AMIIBO WARS: ZERO SUIT SAMUS STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
ZERO SUIT SAMUS

Debut: Season 5
Highest Placement: 22nd Place (Season 5)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 18th out of 41 (Season 5)
Current Ranking: 18th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S5: Debuting in Amiibo Wars this late really puts an amiibo behind. Not having the luxury of an early release like other amiibos, she hasn't had as much time to spar/develop her strategies as others. Considering how green she is however, she did fairly well. She finished right outside the Top 20, which is an accomplishment for a brand new amiibo. She was great and dishing out damage as well as stalling/evading damage done to her, but she just wasn't finishing stocks quick enough. Hopefully with time she will make improvements on this. ZSS Finished in 22nd Place on her debut season.

S6: With so many amiibos in Amiibo Wars now, we really have to whittle down the competition. The Wildcard Preseason was introduced to make sure every active amiibo has a chance, each season, to make an impact and work towards a shot at the main stage. ZSS really floundered in this season. Though she managed a 1v1 win on Lucario, she didn't win any other matches in either phase, ultimately leading to her very early elimination. Hopefully she blossoms with time like some other stars have done, but for now she remains at the bottom of the pack.

AMIIBO WARS: TOON LINK STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
Toon Link

Debut: Season 2
Highest Placement: 3rd Place (Season 3)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 11th out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 19th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S2: Toon Link debuted in Season 2. But his entrance was late into the season, so he didn't really accomplish too much. Joining in with the giant wave of amiibos that entered the series in Season 2, there wasn't a lot of room to stand out. With most of them still pretty green, it would be a journey to unleash their true potential. Toon Link was one of these amiibos, but it wasn't long before he would start making waves in Amiibo Wars.

S3: This was Toon Links best season. The Gauntlet was a singles heavy/mostly 1v1 style format that catered to stronger 1v1 competitors. Though the tournament did have a handful of item/team/ffa matches thrown in the mix for the entirety of it's run. Toon Link stomped through the placement round right out the gate, putting himself in the top spot from the get go. Though Little Mac/Mario's feud pushed him out of the spotlight, he managed to cling on to 3rd Place, knocking a few amiibos down a peg who tried to take his spot. Toon Link was looking to be a serious force in Amiibo Wars.

S4: Season 4 was a bit of dejavu as Toon Link once again smashes through the preliminary rounds. Toon Link was looking to be the amiibo to beat, but much to his dismay, round 3 saw him in over his head with the likes of Shulk/Mario/Zelda/Lucario/Diddy, all who were top tier amiibos that had great win records. It could've been an unlucky draw, but this early elimination had a big effect on his ranking. Toon Link ended the tournament in 18th Place, not very good considering his potential.

S5: Toon Link seemed to tilt after his early elimination in the last season. With the implementation of the Challenger Series, more effort was needed to make it to the top. The competition was more intense and a lot of big names and veterans were out before the tournament even began. Toon Link struggled in the Challenger Series, and much like past greats, it seemed that he didn't have what it takes to advance to the Top 20. Judging from the past two seasons, Toon Link was no longer a top tier amiibo.

S6: Season 6's introduction of the Wildcard Series divided amiibos into smaller groups, allowing more room for them to shine individually as well as less room for error. Toon Link was placed in the same group as Link who was the only amiibo to score a perfect score in the Wildcard. Toon Link had weak 1v1 Phase Scores but his Phase 2 scores were great, it gave him just enough to boost him to the Challenger Series. Will he make it to the Top 20 this season, or fumble again? More Season 6 coming soon!

AMIIBO WARS: GANONDORF STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
GANONDORF

Debut: Season 5
Highest Placement: 11th Place (Season 5)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 6th out of 41 (Season 5)
Current Ranking: 6th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S5: Ganondorf's debut in Season 5 really looked like he was going to shake things up in a big way. He steamrolled through the Challenger Series and looked like he had a great chance of making it to the top. Sadly, he showed some inconsistencies. More so than any other amiibo, when he's on a roll, he dominates but once he gets thrown off his game, he tilts really hard. Landing in the Bottom 3 a couple times, he really managed to save himself when it counted. But in the end, his inexperience put him at a bit of a disadvantage and he finished in 11th place. That's really good for a brand new amiibo.

S6: Ganondorf's taste of the spotlight was short lived. Though he is a definite force that has potential to be an amazing competitor, he is much like Bowser in that he crumbles when he really needs to perform. Though his score in the 1v1 Phase of Wildcard was above average, he bombed in Phase 2, absolutely destroying his chances of moving on. This was one of the hardest groups, so maybe that was ultimately a major factor in his demise. Mega Man joined him in his elimination here, an amiibo who has proved season after season he's a great competitor. It was shocking to see two greats out so early. Here's to hoping he impresses next season. To be fair, I don't think Team Turmoil would've played in his favor anyway.

AMIIBO WARS: SHEIK STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
SHEIK

Debut: Season 2
Highest Placement: 13th Place (Season 5)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 27th out of 41 (Season 5)
Current Ranking: 27th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S2: Sheik had a terrible start in Amiibo Wars. Debuting with the biggest group of new amiibos in Amiibo Wars history, it was difficult for them to stand out. Sheik was one of the few amiibos that really failed to hit the mark early on and hardly did anything notable. She lost most of her matches and landed in the Bottom 5 for the season.

S3: Season 3 was a small improvement for Sheik, but not much. She did manage to fight her way out of the Bottom 5, but he placement for the season was still pretty low. At this point I felt she was underpowered and ineffective. I was expecting her to always be a low tier amiibo that probably wouldn't make it past the preliminary rounds in later seasons.

S4: This season didn't go much better. At this point, Sheik has managed to take 1v1 games off some of the best, but she isn't consistent in doing so. With perma-elimination looming, her inconsistencies put her in a situation of an early exit. Though she continued to hold the same position as she did in past seasons, it looks as though she isn't making much progress at improving. She is, but it's very minor improvements.

S5: This was Sheik's proudest moment. Season 5 didn't see a lot of changes to the perma-elimination formula other than adding in a Challenger Series to fight for a chance to make it to the main tournament. With one of the biggest shocks in Amiibo Wars history, Sheik managed to squeak by in the Challenger Series by the skin of her teeth, making it to the Top 20. With the stakes raised, as well as the competition, Sheik really struggled right out the gate, being the first of two to drop into the Bottom 2. She prevails, really managing to ruffle a lot of feathers, taking games off of some of the greatest amiibos in the series, including the reigning champion, Shulk. When the numbers dwindled and the Bottom 2 turned into a Bottom 3, it was too much work for her to hang in there. Sheik made a big climb from her previous scores, landing in 13th place for the season. It was great to finally see her making improvements and doing well.

S6: With the last season going so well for Sheik, you can't help but hope she will continue to do well. In the Wildcard Preseason Event, Sheik was placed in a group with Mario. Sheik was the reason Mario didn't get a perfect score, as she was the only amiibo to take a game off of him. Aside from Mario, Sheik performed really well, landing herself in 2nd place for the group and securing her spot in the Challenger Series. Sheik is the true wildcard in Amiibo Wars, you never know what to expect from her or who she will beat. Her skills in team/group matches are among some of the best, so if she makes it to the Top 20, I'd like to see her go far.

AMIIBO WARS: ZELDA STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
ZELDA

Debut: Season 1
Highest Placement: 1st Place (Season 2)
Championship Wins: 1
Best Ranking: 15th out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 23rd out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S1: In Season 1, Zelda made her debut alongside 5 other amiibos. With only 6 to begin with, there wasn't a lot of room for error. Overshadowed by the then it boys, Marth and Link, none of the other amiibos were able to really shine. Though she did win a few tournaments that season, she ultimately ended near the bottom of the pack.

S2: Zelda's crowning moment was Season 2. Probably the biggest change in Amiibo Wars history, so many new amiibos were brought in and still Zelda proved that experience trumps all. Lucario/Diddy Kong/Rosalina were really hogging the spotlight in season 2, but as the tournament went on, an underdog arose. Absolutely dominating tournament after tournament, Zelda's points skyrocketed her right to the top. No one saw it coming, but a well deserved Championship Win fell into her lap and once again a Zelda Universe Amiibo holds the championship.

S3: Season 3 was a bit of a reinvention of the old formula to spice things up. I will safely say it was a flawed idea that didn't really play into the favor of all amiibos. It really was a season geared towards the strongest 1v1 competitors, and though Zelda has been known to do well in 1v1's, she's more well rounded and great in a group match environment more so. So in this instance, she saw a bit of a decline and landed in 13th place for the season. This was a big dip from her previous Championship Win.

S4: Season 4 introduced perma elimination. Never before had Amiibo Wars put so much pressure on the amiibos to perform. A bad run sent them out the door for the rest of the season. In Zelda's case, she held her own, competing with some of the best. Most of the season she managed to keep herself right out of elimination range but not going above and beyond in her groups. She did finish in 8th Place which is very good by today's standards, considering how many amiibos are now competing in the tournament series.

S5: Season 5 is where Zelda hit rock bottom. After a new training method refreshed all previous knowledge of amiibos, Zelda seemed to be a little out of her league. Though a lot of amiibos retained their effectiveness, some previously great amiibos were now less than. Zelda didn't perform well in the Challenger Series and didn't even make the Top 20. She was shockingly out in the first round. It's a major disappointment for the previous Champion. Is she ever going to return to her former glory?

S6: Once again leaving us disappointed, Zelda seemed to still be on tilt. Though her performance was improving, she didn't perform well enough to even make it out of the Wildcard Preseason event. Ultimately, she was eliminated before the season even began. Her shot at advancing to the Challenger Series was stolen from her by King Dedede, who's Phase 2 upset put him 1 point ahead of the princess. Zelda has fallen from grace, and it's hard to say if she will ever make it back into the spotlight again. There are so many amazing talents in Amiibo Wars now who are vying for stardom and their shot at a Championship Win.

AMIIBO WARS: LINK STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
LINK

Debut: Season 1
Highest Placement: 1st Place (Season 1)
Championship Wins: 1
Best Ranking: 8th out of 41 (Season 5)
Current Ranking: 8th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S1: Link really came out strong in Amiibo Wars. He is one of two orignals that really put Amiibo Wars on the map, the other being Marth. The power struggle between the two to become the first Amiibo Wars Champion came down to the wire. There wasn't really any other competition for the two at the time, it was their tournament to win. Ultimately Link pulled it out and went down in history as the first ever Amiibo Wars Champion.

S2: Season 2 introduced quite a few new faces that really shook the fabric of the Amiibo Wars that once was. The originals were pushed down to the middle of the pack as new faces rose to the top. Link was no longer the face of Amiibo Wars, and as other originals improved and continued to make progress, it seemed like Link may have peaked too soon.

S3: Season 3 saw somewhat of a redemption for Link. Though he didn't make it to the #1 spot he really took to the Gauntlet and did a great job of holding a respectable position. Link was making improvements to better himself in Amiibo Wars with all the new competition being thrown in. He was now on a journey to once again reclaim the Championship, finishing in 4th Place showed that he wasn't too far off from doing it again.

S4: Season 4 was Link's lowest point in Amiibo Wars. Starting out strong, it looked like he was going to breeze through the competition. But to everyone's surprise, he went from a Top Score to the Bottom Score back to back. Link really bombed out, not winning a single match and going full tilt. He lands himself in 20th Place, really dropping his placement in the Amiibo Wars Rankings.

S5: As Season 5 Challenger Series came around, Link had something to prove. His embarrassing 20th Placement in Season 4 seemed to have lit a fire under him once more. He seemed like a brand new amiibo, mowing through the mid tier competition. In the Top 20, Link had a few ups and downs, but ultimately landed himself in 6th Place. Considering the competition in Amiibo Wars currently, I'd say that is a major improvement for him.

S6: Season 6 introduces the Wildcard preseason, and Link couldn't have been made any happier for this event. Given that the Top Point Getter in Wildcard gets a by to the Top 20, Link took that upon himself to make a statement. With an impressive showing, Link won every Phase 1 and Phase 2 match. The only one in the entire tournament to do so. This ensured his spot in the Top 20, completely bypassing The Challenger Series. With Team Turmoil being the gimmick this season, you have to think, Link's history with team matches being so strong, I think he's after his second Championship Win. Keep an eye out to see how he fairs in the Top 20, coming soon!!

AMIIBO WARS: LITTLE MAC STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
LITTLE MAC

Debut: Season 2
Highest Placement: 2nd Place (Season 3)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 10th out of 41 (Season 5)
Current Ranking: 10th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S2: Little Mac debuts on Season 2. He didn't get very far because his introduction was very late into the season. Mac's debut wasn't great but it wasn't awful either. His win loss was pretty 50/50. I wasn't really sure how he was gonna fair in Amiibo Wars solely based on his weak off stage game. Back then, Little Mac wasn't as overly hyped as he is now.

S3: This season was the best thing for Little Mac. The Season of Gauntlets allowed Little Mac to storm through 1v1's to advance. This is where he really showed his strength in Amiibo Wars. With his placements putting him around the middle of the pack, it was a surprise to see him climb from around 12th place all the way to the #1 Spot. He really showed his 1v1 strength, holding that spot for most of the season. But, in the end Mario managed to take him down and take the spot for himself. Little Mac was so close to a Championship Win he could taste it. He ended the season in 2nd place.

S4: Season 4 was the worst season in Little Mac's career. Whether or not it was a fluke, that's debatable. In Amiibo Wars, there's a possibility of anyone being eliminated at any time. He's not the only strong competitor to show a moment of weakness, some of the best have seen an early demise. In this case though, Little Mac was out in round 1. Granted, the majority of group round matches in Season 4 were 3 Way/4 Way/Team Matches, which is Little Mac's weakness. This group included notable competitors, Ness/Link/Zelda/Peach/Toon Link, all of which are amazing in group environments. I think Little Mac got the short end of the stick this Season, which ultimately led to his placement in the rankings being lower than it should've been.

S5: With Season 5 featuring a significant 1v1 Phase in the Challenger Series, Little Mac was given a chance to shine. Only dropping 3 matches in Phase 1 and holding his own in Phase 2. Mac pummeled his way to the Top 20, where he fought his way to the top of the pack once again. His road wasn't the easiest, battling out of the Bottom 2 and Bottom 3 a few times. But he did manage to finish the season in 3rd/4th place, tied with Ness. Now that the formula for Amiibo Wars is allowing for 1v1 Match and Group Match Competitors to shine, it gives Little Mac more of a fighting chance to ensure his spot in the Top 20.

S6: This season started out a little different for Mac. Seeing as the Top 3 from last season were given a by to the Top 20 of Season 6, his tie with Ness means only one of them can advance. At the start of the Season, Wildcard #1, we kicked things off with an amazing Best of 5 between Mac/Ness to determine who would get the by to the Top 20. Coming down to the wire, Ness gets the edge over Mac, forcing him to battle his way to Season 6 like the rest of them. Needless to say, Mac was devastated. Tilted after this loss to Ness, his performance in the Wildcard was not up to standard for him. 1 point kept Mac from elimination, he just barely manages to advance. The Challenger Series was a different story. Being matched with lesser knowns, Bowser Jr/Mii Swordsman, Little Mac took advantage of their inexperience and easily carved a spot for himself in the Top 20. Can he get his revenge on Ness and the others? Or will he tilt once again? Keep posted for more Season 6, coming soon!!
