AMIIBO WARS: BOWSER JR. STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
BOWSER JR.

Debut: Season 5
Highest Placement: 33rd Place (Season 5)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 39th out of 41 (Season 5)
Current Ranking: 39th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS
S5: Bowser Jr. is a newer amiibo and made his debut in Season 5. So far I feel like he's just been a victim of the newbie curse. He got schooled by the more veteran amiibos and it has reflected on to his ranking. I don't think Bowser Jr. is bad necessarily, I just think he's a bit green. Season 5 will probably be his lowest point, I don't suspect him to score that low in the future.

S6: Bowser Jr. performed very well in the Wildcard Event for Season 6. Doing pretty well in both of his 1v1/FFA phases, Bowser Jr. has made improvements. He managed to advance past the first round which is already an improvement on his debut season. Making it into the Challenger Series, Bowser Jr. was up against long time vet Ike and newcomer Mii Swordsman for a Top 20 spot. Sadly, things didn't pan out for him, he struggled against both Ike and Swordsman and had to say his goodbyes early.

AMIIBO WARS: YOSHI STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
YOSHI

Debut: Season 2
Highest Placement: 15th Place (Season 4)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 26th out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 35th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS
S2:  Yoshi as an amiibo didn't have the best start. Back then, there were quite a few amiibos who had tons of bugs/issues and he was one of them. Yoshi had an obsession with eggs and grabs, no matter how you trained him, he became an egg machine and that's all he wanted to do. Even with them in kill range, he'd continue throwing eggs. Clearly this set him back, and his debut in Season 2 was not the best.

S3: In Season 3, Yoshi was still struggling with his AI issues and it was hard for him to compete against the rest. It seemed like he had a giant weight on his shoulders that he couldn't lift. This was the season of Gauntlets and as Yoshi placed pretty low, he didn't really have any opportunities to advance. He managed to keep his score against the newcomers of the season but that's about all he did.

S4: Season 4 was where things started to turn around for Yoshi. An Amiibo Patch was placed into the game fixing a lot of bugs to make them better. Yoshi's egg addiction was lessened, his options widened and he was actually starting to win matches. He started off slow in this season but did just enough to keep himself safe. Nearing the Top 20, he almost even got a Top Score, only 1 point off from Ness. But he seemed to peak, he bit off more than he could chew and his commendable performance ended at 15th place. It was starting to look like Yoshi was going somewhere in Amiibo Wars.

S5: Coming off of his great Season 4 Performance, Yoshi was looking to be one to watch now. But his short lived successes were quickly smashed as he plummeted back to the bottom of the pack. In the Challenger Series, Yoshi was placed in what I would consider the toughest group of all. He was completely outmatched with the majority of competitors in that group being seasoned Top Tier Amiibos. Standing literally no chance, Yoshi was out as quickly as he entered and though improvements to his AI left him in a better place, he still didn't have what it took to beat the Amiibo Wars Elites.

S6: Season 6 was looking to be dejavu for Yoshi. Being randomly rolled into Wildcard #1, his competition was fierce. The smaller groups meant he didn't have a lot of room to wiggle out of this one. Though he did better than I expected, his failure in Phase 2 sealed his fate. Yoshi's strengths come in FFA/Team Matches but it just didn't seem to work in his favor this time. He did however manage to beat Little Mac in a 1v1, which for him, is a definite accomplishment. Yoshi has gone from a bottom tier Amiibo Wars Competitor to more of a Mid Tier. I'm happy with his journey so far and hopefully with time he can continue to improve.

AMIIBO WARS: (S6 PRESEASON) WILDCARD #7

AMIIBO WARS WILDCARD #7 (SEASON 6 PRESEASON)
(COMPLETED)
*UPDATED 4/6*

WELCOME BACK to Amiibo Wars Wildcard! Wildcard #6 had some unexpected turns that I didn't see coming and we saw the 2nd Phase 1 Landslide of the season! Here it is if you haven't read it yet. (Check it out here!) This group is going to be another hard one to predict. Most of these amiibos have been pretty up and down in their careers and you never know how they are going to perform as the seasons change. Two newbies have been thrown into the mix so that's another wildcard that'll be hard to predict. I can't tell you who I think will be moving on, but I know that these newbies have a lot of potential. Wildcard #7 is on the way!

WILDCARD #7 COMPETITORS

(I forgot that my Sonic has been reset to lvl 1, so he wont be competing this season. He has been replaced if you are wondering why he isn't there anymore. Marth was randomly selected as his replacement.)

LAST SEASON we saw a comeback from a legend, and 3 amiibos who just couldn't make an impact. This Wildcard will see the debut of two brand new Amiibo Wars Contenders, looking to shake up the competition. PAC-MAN looked promising in his debut season 3, he ran an impressive Gauntlet and did better than all the new amiibos who joined him that season. Since then though, he just hasn't had a chance to make an impact. Can he turn things around this season? ROSALINA, much like Pac-Man came into her Season 2 debut with a fire under her. She dominated the majority of the season and was so close to winning the Championship. Sadly her fire has gotten dimmer and dimmer as the Seasons progress and I don't know if she can get out of this funk. Have the newer amiibos pushed her to the backburner? Or can she prove us wrong? I just hope to see some improvement. ROY makes his debut in Season 6, and if his training and pre-tournament sparring is any indication of his skill as an amiibo, I think he's going to get very far this season. Roy has beaten some of the best of the best in Non-Tournament matches, but can he do it in Amiibo Wars? We'll just have to wait and see. MARTH has had some serious ups and downs in Amiibo Wars. He was the runner up in Season 1 and went on a down slope following his devastating loss to Link. Last Season we saw Marth in a much better state, he made it to the Top 20 and finished in 18th place. Compared to the seasons prior, this was a huge improvment, and I'm hoping to see him get even farther this season. OLIMAR had a rough start in his debut last season. While fellow newcomers Dr. Mario and Dark Pit stole the show, Olimar was barely able to hold his head above water. Sadly, he's currently ranked in Last Place in the Standings following Season 5. On the positive side of things though, he can only go up from here right? He may just follow in the footsteps of Charizard and Robin who started off slow and are now top contenders in Amiibo Wars. RYU is hard for me to predict. In his training I noticed his damage output was insane and it reminded me a lot of Little Mac. In that regard, I don't think he's on par with Little Mac and his recovery is just as bad. With some minor flaws in his AI, prioritizing moves it probably shouldn't, he may not have the success I think the character deserves. But as time goes on, I hope these kinks can be worked out and we will have another top dog in the mix. Phase 1 is on the way!

WILDCARD PHASE 1

PAC-MAN didn't have the best or worst score of the bunch. He's in a position to save himself in the next round but I don't really know if Pac-Man is going to be able to hang with some of the talent in this group. Pac-Man is looking better than last season, I will give him that. But I think his weaknesses that come along with his B Moves doing pretty much nothing for him, put him at a disadvantage. If I am to make a prediction, I don't think Pac-Man will make it out of this group based on his current performances.

ROSALINA sadly continues to be unimpressive and struggles in her 1v1's. When she debuted Season 2 she was a monster, but I revamped my amiibos and reset all of them to test a new training method. This method hasn't seemed to work well for her and I really don't think she measures up anymore. I may need to consider using a different training method on her, or just giving her time to improve her strategies like the rest of them. Resetting her multiple times could be what's setting her back. Her poor performance could be my fault, I'm not really sure. I just want her to be back to being a dominant force in Amiibo Wars.

ROY has arrived and made an impressive entrance. Given that there is some talk that Roy Amiibo isn't good, I think mostly in the Equipment world, I think this validates my "Very Strong" placement of this amiibo. He was dominating the 1v1 phase and only dropped 1 game to the amiibo he trained all the way to 50 with. The match came down to the wire and I think because Ryu has Roy figured out from the constant sparring, he had a little more edge in that matchup than the other competitors. Roy is looking very good and I could definitely see him pushing through to the Top 20 this season.

MARTH did okay. I kind of expect a seasoned legend like Marth to have an edge but out of all the sword fighters, I feel like his AI may be the weakest. You'd think with his tipper mechanic he'd have a major edge over the others but I just don't see him utilizing it as well as he should. 3 out of 5 is pretty good regardless and I think he definitely has a chance of advancing. I'm not counting him out, I just expect more out of him (because he's my main) and he typically doesn't deliver. :/

OLIMAR has definitely improved. His phase 1 score has placed him in the upper half of the group, which means he could very well be advancing to the next round depending on how well he does in the next phase. He could only go up from last season and I was happy to see him getting some victories. Even on his losses, he came pretty close, I think he could be solid with time. Still a few hiccups with not pulling pikmin sometimes, which could put him behind in some match ups.

RYU struggled a bit, but was the only one to manage a win on Roy. Granted they did train together so he had more experience fighting him, but that's still no small accomplishment. Ryu's struggles were mainly from getting gimped off stage. His recovery is really bad, so if he gets knocked off stage mid jump, he's pretty much done for. If he can manage to stay on stage, he typically will out damage his opponent and win, but these weaknesses off stage, and his constant obsession with trying to land Down B's is really an annoyance. So the lesson of the day is, when training Ryu, keep him center stage, you don't want him fighting at the ledges at all. He could still come back from his current score, but with a Team/FFA environment having so many offstage encounters, it's not looking so good for the Street Fighter. Points are close and Phase 2 will determine a lot, it's coming up next!

WILDCARD PHASE 2

PHASE 2 is the deciding factor once again. With the majority of amiibos in the group hovering around the same scores, the performances going into this next phase are crucial. Marth/Olimar/Roy are currently in the lead, if they can manage decent scores they will surely be moving on. But that's not always the case. If any of these amiibos manage to win all 3 matches, it could boost them right up to the Top 3. After Roy's incredible Phase 1 performance, I don't think there is any chance of him falling into danger but the other 2 spots are definitely up for grabs. Are you ready to find out who is moving on? Only 1 Wildcard Remains after this, then comes the road to Top 20 for Season 6. The grueling process will slim down the remaining members until we have only 17 left to join the 3 who've already advanced.

THE RESULTS ARE IN!

WILDCARD #7 MVP

ROY proved that the debut curse isn't for every amiibo. Coming into this tournament he nearly landslided Phase 1, and won all 3 Phase 2 matches. I believe he has the best score across all Wildcards so far. Roy is looking to be a serious Amiibo Wars threat, can he rival the likes of Shulk and Dark Pit? I'm sure we're going to find out, because at this point, I definitely predict Roy will make a Top 20 appearance. This group was a little bit on the easier side of things, so it'll be interesting to see how he measures up to more skilled amiibos.

RYU PROVES ME WRONG & OLIMAR MAKES IT!

RYU shockingly wins all 3 Phase 2 matches, catapulting himself into 2nd place for the group. The newbies take over and prove they aren't here to be walked over. Ryu did a lot better in the Team Matches than I expected him to, however, his weak recovery still does worry me a bit. I don't think he will be so lucky in the future and may bomb some of his Team Matches. If he does make it to the Top 20, I'm not sure how far he's going to get this season. The competition will be fierce. OLIMAR manages to take the 3rd spot, thanks to Marth's inability to win any matches in Phase 2. With Olimar's 1 win it boosted his points just enough to grab the 3rd Place spot. I really think he's out of his league here though, I don't see him making it to the Top 20. So far he hasn't had any majorly impressive wins, and I think the majority of amiibos who've advanced are pretty strong. He may surprise me, but I feel like this was an upset and Marth should've been the one advancing.

THE END OF THE ROAD

MARTH leaves me disappointed once again. I expected him to advance, but he didn't perform well. Marth has been outmatched by newer amiibos it seems and I don't know if he will ever reach his former glory again. If he had one atleast 1 match in Phase 2, I think he could've beaten Olimar in a Best of 5 but that's just not how the cards played out this season. I love Marth as a character, I just wish his amiibo was a little bit better. ROSALINA did a lot better in her Phase 2 Matches but her Phase 1 flub up set her too far behind. I was starting to feel like she was making changes for the better before my eyes, so hopefully next season we will see her perform much better in the 1v1's and actually make it somewhere in the tournament. PAC-MAN's performance was borderline embarrassing. He just doesn't have the tools other amiibos have and I felt like as a teammate, he was actually just weighing down his teammate and handicapping them. Pac-Man had one of the worst scores of the season, not really surprised and I will have to think about whether or not he's worth keeping in Amiibo Wars. If I feel like he's just free wins for his opponents, I won't have a choice other than to retire him. I'll give him one more tournament to prove himself. Only one Wildcard remains and we're saving some of the best for last. Amiibo Wars Legend Mario is back in action, you don't want to miss it, Wildcard #8 is coming up next!

WILDCARD #8 IS HERE!!

AMIIBO WARS: PEACH STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
PEACH

Debut: Season 1
Highest Placement: 9th Place (Season 4)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 9th out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 13th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS
S1: Much like many of the amiibos that debut, Peach was the pioneer of the slow start. She finished the season in last place. Granted, at the time there was only 10 amiibos. Peach didn't seem as strong as the others and didn't look to have the capabilities that certain other amiibos had. I started to question her effectiveness in general, but I was definitely wrong on that judgment. This was just the beginning, and she helped me realize, some amiibos just need a little more time to shine.

S2: In Season 2, the number of competitors more than doubled. Peach now had even more competition than she already had, and it wasn't looking great for her. Luckily, this increase in amiibos allowed her to develop a more varied playstyle and she was making improvements. He Win/Loss changed drastically from Season 1 and she was no longer negative. Maybe she has something, maybe she is actually getting stronger and maybe she has what it takes to compete with those top tier amiibos.

S3: The Season of Gauntlets. Peach had an above average placement score and maintained her position the whole season. Though she didn't make any outstanding pushes toward the top, she made sure she stayed within the Top 10. This was her best season so far, finishing in 11th place out of 32 amiibos. Peach was an OG at this point, and her experience was starting to show. She may have had a rough start, but now she was actually taking games off some of the best in the business.

S4: The Season 4 Perma-Elimination rules really shook things up a bit, especially for the newer amiibos who really didn't have the experience to hang in there. With the newbies dropping like flies, the veterans of Amiibo Wars were hanging on for dear life. Peach didn't land any Top Scores or make any serious fumbles. She was becoming very consistent and was able to make it into the Top 10 this time, placing 9th out of 37 amiibos. While most of her Season 1 Fam was fluctuating in their scores, Peach always managed to stay towards the top. Though her scores didn't ever take her REALLY high, you could always count on her to make it far.

S5: The Challenger Series was introduced in Season 5, most of the amiibos wouldn't even make it to the Top 20. As new amiibos keep coming in, the veterans are given a bone. Pick off the newbies and maintain their high ranks in the standings. Peach was now a seasoned fighter, and she always seemed to have an edge over the newcomers. Peach could hang in a 1v1 and in FFA/Team Matches. This definitely played in her favor and placed her into the Top 20. After surviving a few Bottom 2 scares, she made it to 16th place before being eliminated. The competition is heating up and the newcomers she used to be able to win off of aren't so easy to beat anymore. This could cause issues for Peach.

S6: The introductions of The Wildcard Pre-Season series isolated the competitors into smaller groups, insuring that they have to fight for their spots this time. There is no where to hide when you're split into groups of 6. This Season's all about skill, and as Peach was placed into Wildcard #1, it seemed the competitors were a little too much for her. She was a victim of an unlucky placement, Jigglypuff/Charizard/Little Mac, are all amazing Previous Top 20 amiibos and deserved to advance. I feel that if Peach had an easier group, she definitely would have moved on. Sadly, this will hurt her ranking and is probably her lowest point so far in Amiibo Wars.

AMIIBO WARS: LUIGI STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
LUIGI

Debut: Season 2
Highest Placement: 6th Place (Season 2)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 19th out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 26th out of 41 (Season 5)
PAST SEASONS
S2: Luigi debuted in Season 2 which up until this point was his shining moment. He had quite a few Top 3 performances even though he didn't manage to win any of the tournaments that season. Season 2 only had 23 competitors, so it was a little easier for the amiibos to shine. As time progressed, many more amiibos were added to the ranks, and that is when things started to get rocky for Luigi.

S3: Season 3 was Gauntlets where the only way to really advance was to win a series of matches to push yourself up the ladder. Luigi didn't thrive as much in this environment as I expected him to. He was definitely overshadowed by Mario. This was Mario's defining moment as a competitor in Amiibo Wars, and Luigi wasn't looking so strong anymore. Mario had taken his position and did it even better.

S4: Season 4 made some drastic changes to the formula once again, doing away with the point system and bringing in permanent eliminations. This made it even more challenging because the amiibos had to perform to keep themselves in the game. Luigi seemed more in his element this season, as competitors dropped like flies, Luigi managed to keep himself above water and even got some top scores in some of the groups. Out of 32 amiibos, Luigi made the halfway point, finishing in 16th place. It was becoming pretty clear that he just didn't seem to have what it took to take it to the next level, but secured enough sway to keep himself in the game at least through the middle of the seasons. Luigi was the ultimate Mid-Tier Competitor.

S5: Season 5 saw the return of Perma-Elimination as well as a handful of new amiibos making their debut. The Challenger Series was a new addition to the competition where we saw a hefty amount of eliminations before the tournament even began. It was now a fight for the Top 20, and only the best of the best made the big stage. Luigi seemed to have a good enough reputation to put himself at least in the Top 20, so things were looking good. This was until his ultimate rival, Mario was placed in his group as well as another Amiibo Wars Top Contender Mega Man, who really put Luigi through hell. Sadly, these two amiibos sealed his fate and put him out of the competition before he could even get started. This was Luigi's lowest point so far in his career and going into Season 6, I was certain he'd make improvements.

S6: Season 6 introduced Wildcard, a variation of The Challenger Series that pits smaller groups against eachother to determine who stays and who goes on their quest to obtaining a Top 20 spot in Season 6. Luigi competes in Wildcard #2 against last seasons big rival, Mega Man. Both do a good job in this group and then the unthinkable happens, Mega Man/Luigi are tied for the 3rd spot and only one of them can advance. The two go head to head in what looked like Mega Man's series at first, but Luigi turned it around and took it home, advancing in the competition and putting out Mega Man early. This was sweet revenge for last season. Luigi is currently still in the running towards the Top 20 for Season 6.

AMIIBO WARS: MARIO STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
MARIO

Debut: Season 1
Highest Placement: 1st Place (Season 3)
Championship Wins: 1
Best Ranking: 1st out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 2nd out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S1: Season 1 was the beginning of a long journey for Mario. When he debuted, amiibos were brand new, some of the bugs and kinks weren't worked out and honestly, Mario was not in a good place. When amiibos first came out, there was an issue with them that made them air dodge at the ledge when being ledge guarded and for amiibos with poor recoveries, this led to them SD'ing A LOT. This issue really held Mario back for a while, and even though he landed himself in 3rd place this season, it was only because the pool of amiibos in Amiibo Wars back then was so small.

S2: Season 2 was probably his lowest point. With a massive group of new amiibos being introduced, this put a huge spotlight on Mario's glitches and weaknesses. He was ultimately overshadowed the entire season by some newcomers who had hit the scene. This was probably Mario's rock bottom, but as they say, it's only up from there.

S3: By the time Season 3 rolled around, changes to amiibos allowed for some of them who were gimped with disadvantages in AI to show what they are really made of. Season 3 was the season of "Gauntlets" where you climbed the ranks by beating one opponent after another. With the amiibo recovery issues being worked out in a patch, this really allowed Mario to shine. He stepped out of the shadows and dominated the competition, running an impressive 10 win streak Gauntlet, placing himself at the top of the pack where he battled Little Mac and Link all season for the throne. It was a power struggle, but ultimately Mario claimed the top spot and won his first Amiibo Wars Championship.

S4: Mario continued his dominance in Season 4, showing how much of a threat he is. He stayed on the heels of his fellow top contenders all season and ultimately finished in 4th place. That buff to recovery really helped him tremendously and he rarely showed any weaknesses after that. Following this Season, Mario's consistent top placing scores put him at the top of the rankings over every other Amiibo in Amiibo Wars. He may not have won Season 4, but he showed he was the most consistent across multiple seasons.

S5: Season 5 wasn't any different from 4 because Mario continued his dominance. He fought his way to the bitter end with little to no push back, only falling to the Bottom 3 once at the end of the season. Little Mac once again proving to be one of Mario's biggest rivals, puts him out in 5th place. This lower placement for him sadly cost him the #1 spot in the rankings. Now at #2, Mario needs to continue to show consistency, and I have no doubt he could take back his #1 spot, no problem.

S6: Mario continues to show his dominance as an Amiibo Wars Legend. Even though he has to fight his way through the masses, he seems unphased. Mario dominates the Wildcard Round and really looks strong going into the Challenger Series. If he somehow gets eliminated there, it will be a massive shock. His Teamfight capabilities have been improving, so hopefully Team Turmoil won't be a huge detriment to his place in the rankings.

AMIIBO WARS: BOWSER STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
BOWSER

Debut: Season 2
Highest Placement: 2nd Place (Season 4)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 7th out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 15th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S2: Bowser debuted in Season 2 which was for the most part a 1v1 style tournament. Granted, there were quite a few Team/FFA matches thrown in, Bowser showed early that he didn't really have the capability of dominating the 1v1 scene. Bowser showed his strength in FFA matches, where he was obliterating the competition with his power and hard hitting attacks.

S3: With Season 3 being even more focused around 1v1 skills, Bowser landed around the middle of the pack, his inability to run the gauntlet left him sitting where he started, ultimately not making an impact at all.

S4: We switched things up in Season 4. giving Bowser much more of a fighting chance. This was his proudest moment because the match types were so diverse. Giving him the ability to have multi man matches just as often as 1v1 matches boosted him all the way to the top where he was in reaching distance of the S4 Crown. Sadly, it didn't pan out and Bowser lost in the Grand Finals to Shulk. 2nd Place

S5: As Season 5 rolled around, Bowser was looking to be a top contender, but following the challenger series, he didn't live up to the hype. Bowser fumbled and struggled, ultimately putting him out early when I was expecting him to easily make it to the Top 20.

S6: Season 6 being named as a Team Tournament, you'd expect Bowser to climb his way back to the top. Wildcard gave him the opportunity to redeem himself because the Team/FFA phase is worth just as much as the 1v1's. Sadly, he just couldn't carry himself through and his 1v1 score was too much of a detriment to his overall score.
