AMIIBO WARS: LITTLE MAC STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
LITTLE MAC

Debut: Season 2
Highest Placement: 2nd Place (Season 3)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 10th out of 41 (Season 5)
Current Ranking: 10th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S2: Little Mac debuts on Season 2. He didn't get very far because his introduction was very late into the season. Mac's debut wasn't great but it wasn't awful either. His win loss was pretty 50/50. I wasn't really sure how he was gonna fair in Amiibo Wars solely based on his weak off stage game. Back then, Little Mac wasn't as overly hyped as he is now.

S3: This season was the best thing for Little Mac. The Season of Gauntlets allowed Little Mac to storm through 1v1's to advance. This is where he really showed his strength in Amiibo Wars. With his placements putting him around the middle of the pack, it was a surprise to see him climb from around 12th place all the way to the #1 Spot. He really showed his 1v1 strength, holding that spot for most of the season. But, in the end Mario managed to take him down and take the spot for himself. Little Mac was so close to a Championship Win he could taste it. He ended the season in 2nd place.

S4: Season 4 was the worst season in Little Mac's career. Whether or not it was a fluke, that's debatable. In Amiibo Wars, there's a possibility of anyone being eliminated at any time. He's not the only strong competitor to show a moment of weakness, some of the best have seen an early demise. In this case though, Little Mac was out in round 1. Granted, the majority of group round matches in Season 4 were 3 Way/4 Way/Team Matches, which is Little Mac's weakness. This group included notable competitors, Ness/Link/Zelda/Peach/Toon Link, all of which are amazing in group environments. I think Little Mac got the short end of the stick this Season, which ultimately led to his placement in the rankings being lower than it should've been.

S5: With Season 5 featuring a significant 1v1 Phase in the Challenger Series, Little Mac was given a chance to shine. Only dropping 3 matches in Phase 1 and holding his own in Phase 2. Mac pummeled his way to the Top 20, where he fought his way to the top of the pack once again. His road wasn't the easiest, battling out of the Bottom 2 and Bottom 3 a few times. But he did manage to finish the season in 3rd/4th place, tied with Ness. Now that the formula for Amiibo Wars is allowing for 1v1 Match and Group Match Competitors to shine, it gives Little Mac more of a fighting chance to ensure his spot in the Top 20.

S6: This season started out a little different for Mac. Seeing as the Top 3 from last season were given a by to the Top 20 of Season 6, his tie with Ness means only one of them can advance. At the start of the Season, Wildcard #1, we kicked things off with an amazing Best of 5 between Mac/Ness to determine who would get the by to the Top 20. Coming down to the wire, Ness gets the edge over Mac, forcing him to battle his way to Season 6 like the rest of them. Needless to say, Mac was devastated. Tilted after this loss to Ness, his performance in the Wildcard was not up to standard for him. 1 point kept Mac from elimination, he just barely manages to advance. The Challenger Series was a different story. Being matched with lesser knowns, Bowser Jr/Mii Swordsman, Little Mac took advantage of their inexperience and easily carved a spot for himself in the Top 20. Can he get his revenge on Ness and the others? Or will he tilt once again? Keep posted for more Season 6, coming soon!!

AMIIBO WARS: GAME & WATCH STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
GAME & WATCH

Debut: Season 6
Highest Placement: TBD
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: TBD
Current Ranking: TBD

PAST SEASONS

S6: Game & Watch makes his debut in Season 6. Being new to the scene is typically a curse in Amiibo Wars. The contenders usually have an answer for anything thrown at them because they've seen so many varying conditions every season. When you put someone new into the mix, they either shake things up or struggle to adapt. Game & Watch struggled to make an impact. He did okay in most of his matches, but like most new amiibos, he just seemed a little too green to advance. He didn't make it past the Wildcard Phase.

AMIIBO WARS: DIDDY KONG STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
DIDDY KONG

Debut: Season 2
Highest Placement: 4th Place (Season 2)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 23rd out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 32nd out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S2: This was a strong debut for the monkey boy. Diddy really made an impressive impact that shook up Amiibo Wars. Alongside Lucario and Rosalina who also joined him in Season 2, the three had an impressive number of Top 3 Finishes throughout the entire season. Though he did get bested in the end, he seemed to be on fire for most of the season, even holding the #1 spot for a while. After this series, Diddy was looking to be a force to be reckoned with.

S3: Season 3 was not the same story. Diddy Kong's effectiveness in the Gauntlet deminished greatly. This season changed up the dynamic greatly, with a slew of newcomers to mix things up. Diddy Kong's star seemed to be fading, his character received nerfs, which in turn effected the performance of the amiibo. This season was a huge drop for him, falling from 4th Place to 17th Place. Not a performance to be proud of.

S4: This season was a redemption for Diddy. though the first few waves he hovered around the bottom of the pack, he made it through and really started to get a rhythm going. After meeting his old rival, Lucario, in a Bottom 3 Blowout with Wario, the two managed to prove they aren't washed up just yet. They secured their spots by showing their experience, moving on to do great things in the season. Both amiibos make it all the way to the Top 8 and Diddy just barely misses the mark for the Final 4. With the fight so close, Diddy ended up finishing in 7th Place for the tournament, which is a major improvement coming out of Season 3. Diddy redeemed himself and proves he can hang with the best of them.

S5: Season 5 goes down as Diddy Kong's worst ever performance. Going from almost eliminating the likes of Mario/Shulk to barely winning a single match in the Challenger Series of Season 5, something seemed very off. Before Season 5 there was a mass retraining session on all of the older amiibos. My method for training had changed and I wanted to make sure all amiibos got trained the same way so that there wasn't any unfair advantage/disadvantages on either side. This new method seemed to be great for some and not so great for others. The once incomparable Diddy Kong was now a shell of his former self. He didn't have that flare he used to have and I began to worry that he probably would never rival the top amiibos again. In Season 5, Diddy Kong didn't make the Top 20 for the first time ever and overall had one of the Top 3 worst scores for the entire series. It was bad, I feared that he may turn into a low tier amiibo.

S6: Season 6 renewed my faith in Diddy Kong. He made valiant improvements in his skills and I was starting to see the Diddy I seen from the get go. Coming back with a vengeance, Diddy Kong smoked the competition in his Wildcard Placement gaining the top spot for his group, and eliminated two major competitors before they even had a chance to show what they are made of. He has pushed himself to the Challenger Series with ease and his chances of making it back to the Top 20 are looking pretty great right now.

AMIIBO WARS: WARIO STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
WARIO

Debut: Season 3
Highest Placement: 15th Place (Season 5)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 16th out of 41 (Season 5)
Current Ranking: 16th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S3: Was the Gauntlet series. In my opinion is was a bit of a failure in that the randomness of who received Gauntlets was a little unfair. When it's a little too based on luck, that's not a good thing. This Season was the lowest point for Wario, where he scored 3rd from the bottom. But to his defense, his entrance was halfway through the Season and since the group of new amiibos were placed at the bottom of the ladder, he didn't really have a lot of time to advance. I wouldn't really fault him for this one, it was probably the worst season to date. It was just a bad idea.

S4: I wasn't really looking for Wario to do well. Even though S3 wasn't really fair to him, I still looked at his placement as him not being that great. He managed to make it through 2 waves before being placed in one of the first triple tie breakers of Amiibo Wars. Unluckily for him, his opponents were Amiibo Wars Legends, Lucario and Diddy Kong. These two proved to be a little out of his league, considering his lack of experience. He made major improvements from Season 3, which was to be expected. Wario finished in 17th place, jumping 12 spots from Season 3.

S5: Was where perma elimination really got a lot more punishing. The contenders really had to fight for their spots and fighting in elimination rounds was very common for some. In the Challenger Series, Wario barely skated by to the Top 20 and was really one of the biggest underdogs going into it. His phase 1 matches going into the Top 20 look pretty mediocre, but in the 2nd phase he smashed it, managing to get the best score of anyone in his group. Wario was looking pretty strong, but his high point didn't last long, because in the Top 18 he dropped to the bottom 2 where he stayed for the next two rounds. He kept fighting, but it just wasn't enough, landing him in 15th place out of 44 contestants. Wario makes gradual improvements which is what I like to see.

S6: Wario did his best to skate by in the early Wildcard matches, but he just didn't put in enough effort to advance. He was surpassed at the end of the event by 1 point, which allowed the Mii Brawler to take his spot and move on to the challenger series. I'm not really surprised, Wario rarely goes above and beyond, but he does always manage to do an "okay" job. Sadly, his teammates given to him didn't really do him any favors and I think his inability to carry is what ultimately led to his demise in Season 6. I have a feeling his current ranking is going to take a big hit after this season plays out.

AMIIBO WARS: (S6 PRESEASON) WILDCARD #8

AMIIBO WARS WILDCARD #8 (SEASON 6 PRESEASON)
(COMPLETED)
*UPDATED 4/10*

THE REAMAINING 6 amiibos who have yet to compete are ready to battle it out for a shot at the Top 20. In the last group, more shocking eliminations and some interesting advancements, made it pretty clear that this season is going to look a lot different than the last. (Check it out here!) This group will have a good mix of Amiibo Wars Legends and the a few newer amiibos as well. Mario/Lucario/Pikachu have been doing this for a long time, so obviously we will expect to see them advancing, but as the past has shown us, anything can happen and we could even see a legend sent out early. Wildcard #8 is on the way!

WILDCARD #8 COMPETITORS

LAST SEASON we saw legends continue to flourish, a wildcard make a surprising push to the top, an old veteran struggled to make an impact and two newbies fail to make a good first impression. LUCARIO maintained his reputation he's been making for himself since Season 2. A consistent veteran who has time and time again showed his strength. That being said, Season 5 wasn't his highest point. Even though he managed to make it to the Top 20, he didn't get quite as far as he typically does. Amiibo Wars has some serious competition now, can he maintain his position or will he fall to the wayside? PIKACHU's golden days have seemed to come and go. During his first few seasons, Pikachu seemed to have a top spot in Amiibo Wars. But as time has gone by, Pikachu's effectiveness has dwindled and he fell off the radar. Can Pikachu finally make a comeback and make it to the Top 20 this season? SHIEK shocked us all last season by making it to the Top 20. She was the first to drop to the bottom 2 and fought for her life multiple times, saving her spot in the competition. Shiek is a fighter and you have to give credit where credit is due, she outlasted some of the best in the business and I think she will only continue to get better. This season will suit her strengths, so if she makes it again to the Top 20, she could very well have a strong finish. MARIO has been the poster child of Amiibo Wars for a while now. The first to rank #1 in the new standings system because of his excellent placements in recent seasons. He has proven to be a mentor to many of the newer amiibos, sparring with them to help them improve their skills and has consistently landed Top 10 scores in 4 out of 5 of the previous seasons. Mario is a shoe in for the Top 20, but the current stipulation being geared towards team could set him back and may really damage his ranking if he doesn't perform. R.O.B has yet to compete in Amiibo Wars. Judging from his training time, I don't really see him as a top contender, but he could definitely improve with time. Considering the competitors in this group, I really don't see him making it out, but I could be wrong. ZERO SUIT SAMUS made her debut last season and her experience in Amiibo Wars was cut short. She was out so early we didn't really get to see too much of her, but her scores in the Challenger Series were above most of the newcomers. ZSS is a true wildcard, I don't really know what to expect out of her. This is the final Wildcard heading into the beginning of Season 6, where we decide the final 3 to enter the S6 Challenger Series. Phase 1 is on the way!

WILDCARD PHASE 1

LUCARIO gets the ball rolling, only dropping 2 matches. Not his most impressive score considering Zero Suit Samus isn't even on the Amiibo Wars radar and he threw away his match with Mario that he was going to win. Mario vs Lucario is a matchup he's had to play multiple times which in most cases he would win. But for some reason he decides to up b on stage randomly and off the stage to his death, giving up the win to his long time rival. Hopefully this glitch isn't something that happens all the time because something like that can really ruin him. Right now I think he's sitting in a pretty good spot to advance, it's just not quite as good as I expected from him.

PIKACHU's glory days seem to have come and gone. This pokemon went from the top of the list, to bottom feeding. Not really sure if there's anything I can do to help him, he struggles to finish stocks and he's just too squishy to risk getting behind. I think he's overshadowed by a lot of the newer amiibos and he may not ever get back to the strength he once had. Pikachu got at least one win so he's not out of the game just yet. If he can manage all 3 matches in phase 2 he could still save himself, but that isn't really likely in this group. I feel like Pikachu may be out early once again.

SHIEK shows that her hard work and perseverance pays off. It's looking as though her Top 20 placement last season wasn't a fluke. Shiek is the only one to take a game off Mario, something she's done more than once in the past. She also fought Lucario to the bitter end, even having a full stock advantage at a time. Unluckily, he managed to pull things around before it was too late. Shiek has placed herself in a good position here, and judging from her FFA/Team records in past seasons, Shiek is in a great spot for landing in the Top 3 here.

MARIO once again showing the youngsters how it's done. Only dropping 1 match to Shiek, who seems to be a thorn in his side as of late, Mario lands the best Phase 1 score of the group and may be sitting pretty for a Top 3 spot. That being said, if Mario doesn't manage any wins in the next phase, he could very well land in 4th or lower, so he's not safe just yet. I feel like if he manages atleast 1 win, he will be fine. We've already seen Dr. Mario bite the bullet this season, will Mario see the same fate?

R.O.B manages an impressive 3 out of 5 wins in Phase 1. I can honestly say I wasn't expecting much, but he put up an excellent fight in all matches, just falling short to the Amiibo Wars Legends, Lucario and Mario. Considering he's still pretty green, I'm impressed that he matched the majority in this group considering it's his debut season. I think R.O.B could very well be a rival in Amiibo Wars as he gains some more experience.

ZERO SUIT SAMUS sadly doesn't make an impact. In her match with Lucario she was looking incredible but he strength fizzled away after that. I think Pikachu threw her off her game. His small stature was really effecting her ability to land attacks and she had to revert to a more basic playstyle. I'm not really sure if she has what it takes to make it out of this group considering how behind she is, I don't think her FFA/Team Fight abilities are going to be up to par. But I could be wrong, you never really know. A lot of amiibos are close in scores in this Wildcard, so Phase 2 is going to be interesting, it's up next!

WILDCARD PHASE 2

AS ALWAYS Phase 2 is going to decide a lot, even more so than other groups considering how close the scores are coming out of phase 1. Mario with the highest score out of Phase 1 seems to be in the best spot. All he has to do is win one match and he will be fine. I think he has what it take to win at least one. Lucario/Shiek/R.O.B are sitting at the same score in 2nd place. Judging from the past, Lucario has had some spotty performances in Phase 2 matches, so I'm not sure how well he's going to do. Shiek actually has a pretty good record with Team/FFA matches, so she may have a good chance her. Considering R.O.B is new to the scene, I'm not so sure about where he will stand at the end of this. He's still a little green so it's up in the air where he might land on the scoreboard. Pikachu/ZSS will have a lot of work to do if they want to advance. With only 1 win each in Phase 1, advancement is looking pretty far out of reach. Anything is possible though if they manage to win all 3 in the next phase. It's been done before, it could happen again. The Results are up next! Stay Tuned!

THE RESULTS ARE IN!

WILDCARD #8 MVP

MARIO prevails once again. Surprisingly even manages to win all of his Phase 2 matches for an outstanding score of 16 points. Mario is giving us hope that he may actually be able to perform in the Top 20 this season. Hopefully he will be able to protect his current rank in the standings from taking too much damage and keep himself in the Top 10. Mario is proving he's a powerhouse and has even improved upon his weaknesses. I don't think he has a chance of winning this season, but I hope he atleast earns a decent placement.

SHIEK PROVES HERSELF, 3RD PLACE TIE!

SHIEK shows us that her Top 20 placement last season was no fluke. She manages an impressive score of 9 points, putting her in 2nd place. She scored in the higher majority in her Phase 1 and Phase 2 matches against some fierce Amiibo Wars contenders. Shiek dominated her Team Matches and proves she has what it takes to make it to the Top 20. The question is, can she win a tournament and secure her position at the top? LUCARIO and R.O.B tie for 3rd place, getting the exact same scores from their Phase 1 and Phase 2 matches. This means the tie must be broken, and there will be a Best of 5 to determine who moves on and who joins the eliminated competitors.

THE END OF THE ROAD

PIKACHU sadly didn't perform in his 1v1 matches, ultimately putting him in a position that made it almost impossible for him to advance. If he had done a little better in Phase 1, I think he would've had a chance to advance. His Phase 2 matches went a lot better but you have to be able to perform in both to get anywhere in this tournament series. Hopefully we will see improvements next season. ZERO SUIT SAMUS seems to be a victim of the newbie curse. She performed very poorly in both phases. She seemed to be pretty outmatched, but did manage to get a win off of Lucario, which is pretty impressive. I seen signs of potential in her, I just think she needs some more time to develop. After her match with Pikachu, I seen a decline in her performance, I think she struggled a lot with the smaller targets, unable to land some of her attacks. Now it's time for the tie breaker, Lucario and R.O.B are set to compete for the 3rd Place spot!

3RD PLACE TIEBREAKER

LUCARIO vs. R.O.B
Bo5

AFTER matching scores, Lucario and R.O.B must now battle it out in a Best of 5 to advance in the competition. The match types are selected at random to keep things fair. LUCARIO is no stranger to an elimination match. He's seen quite a few in his career, and put quite a few amiibos out of commission. Will his experience be the deciding factor in this matchup? Can Lucario claim another elimination victory to advance? R.O.B is new to Amiibo Wars, never being placed into an elimination round. This is his chance to make a name for himself by eliminating an Amiibo Wars Legend. The Best of 5 is up next!

MATCH 1 was rolled to be an Item Match. R.O.B starts out strong, racking up percent on Lucario. Unluckily for him, this gave Lucario an edge to even things out because of his rage mechanic, and he takes the first stock. R.O.B keeps things even most of the match, but that early lead ultimately give the victory to the veteran, LUCARIO.

MATCH 2 is rolled to be a 1v1 Omega Match. Without any platforms to hide behind, this may put R.O.B at a disadvantage. R.O.B comes out like a rabid dog, taking Lucario into the red before even being touched. He's looking great, takes the first stock off of Lucario and puts him at a major disadvantage. R.O.B maintains his lead for the majority of the match but ultimately a fire lights under Lucario and he brings it back. It comes down to the last stock, one last hit on both amiibos.... LUCARIO takes his 2nd win of the series. Things aren't looking too good for the newcomer, he has one more chance to turn things around.

MATCH 3 is rolled to be a 1v1 Smash Ball Match. R.O.B has to win this one to stay in the game. R.O.B starts out playing a little more safe, waiting on opportunities to punish. He quickly takes Lucario to 70% before taking a hit. Entering rage mode, Lucario tries to take that opportunity to catch back up. Then, a Smash Ball falls. R.O.B does everything in his power to grab the hovering advantage.. landing his final smash and gaining a stock lead. Lucario realizes he's in danger and pushes to finish R.O.B's stock before taking too much damage. The fight evens out once again until another Smash Ball falls from the sky. This time Lucario is in the driver seat. R.O.B manages to  dodge his Final Smash for the most part, making it pretty much useless. Lucario still manages a percent advantage and pulls a stock ahead. R.O.B fights hard to even the stocks back out, with success. It's down to the final stock and percents are even once agian but LUCARIO grabs another Final Smash, this time using it to secure his 3rd and final win of the series.

VALIANT effort from the newcomer, R.O.B. But the veteran was too much for him to handle. I don't think he had the tools to deal with Lucario's rage mode advantages. (Most don't) However, he definitely gave him a run for his money. R.O.B proved he isn't a pushover and I think in future tournaments we will see good things from him. He was very close to advancing, he just didn't have the experience to handle the Best of 5.

LUCARIO may not be the most consistent but when placed in the face of elimination, he can certainly redeem himself. Lucario adapts well in Best of 5's and he proved it here once again. Lucario will be joining Mario and Shiek, who were all three Top 20 Competitors in Season 5. Will they be able to do it again? This is the final Wildcard of the season, we've seen some major players out early and some unexpected upsets. 24 amiibos are left, but only 17 spots remain, are you ready for The Season 6 Amiibo Wars Challenger Series? The groups will be smaller, the stakes higher, and it will be Best of 5's that determine who stays and who goes. How will they be able to manage against an opponent in a 3-5 match series? It will be interesting, Keep an eye out!

AMIIBO WARS: DR. MARIO STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
DR. MARIO

Debut: Season 5
Highest Placement: 10th Place (Season 5)
Best Ranking: 3rd out of 41 (Season 5)
Current Ranking: 3rd out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS
S5: Making his debut in Season 5, Dr. Mario had a lot to prove. Mario had been really showing his strength in the more recent tournaments and was even ranked as the #1 amiibo in Amiibo Wars at the time. Dr. Mario had big shoes to fill. As he entered the Challenger Series, Dr. Mario smoked the competition, landing himself in the Top 20. He consistently kept himself out of the danger zone until the halfway point when the dreaded Bottom 3 reared it's ugly head. Dr. Mario was placed into a bottom 3 with Amiibo Wars Greats, Lucina & Ness, with Ness ultimately skating by just barely. Dr. Mario had an amazing debut and with it being 5 Seasons in, landing in 10th place was a huge feat for his first tournament.

S6: Entering into Season 6, the expectations for the current 3rd Place Ranked Amiibo in Amiibo Wars was pretty high. No doubt in our minds he was going to be advancing to the Challenger Series after his Wildcard Bout... This wasn't the case, one of the most shocking early eliminations of all time, Dr. Mario's spot is ripped away from him by newcomer Lucas, who managed an impressive 3 out of 3 wins in Phase 2. This turn of events left Dr. Mario in the dust, and will surely destroy his rank in the standings.

AMIIBO WARS: ROSALINA & LUMA STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
ROSALINA & LUMA

Debut: Season 2
Highest Placement: 2nd Place (Season 2)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 22nd out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 31st out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S2: Season 2 was a great start for Rosalina. When her amiibo came out, her character was still in it's OP phase and it really translated well into the amiibo. Rosalina back then was an unstoppable force in 1v1's, they just couldn't get through the Luma at all. She racked up so many wins that season, it was crazy. It was looking like her season to win, but then out of no where, Zelda came from behind and stole the top spot away last minute. It seemed this devastating loss was the beginning of a downward spiral that seems to have gotten out of control.

S3: In Season 3, The Gauntlet gimmick played in her favor. She placed high, and because it was such a 1v1 oriented season, she was looking to be the one to beat. Rosalina placed in 2nd place and held her spot for quite sometime until the end where she was overrun by the likes of Little Mac and Mario who ran impressive Gauntlets to the top. Ultimately Rosalina drops to 5th place for the season, which called for another devastating blow to her ego.

S4: By the time Season 4 rolls around, changes to Rosalina set in motion a devastating nerf to the amiibo as well. Her Luma was no longer able to easily carry her through 1v1's, meaning opponents she would normally beat with ease were now taking her down a peg. Match this with her inability to perform in FFA/Team Matches as well as a lot of others and she has a problem on her hands. Rosalina didn't seem to have a clear cut advantage anymore, and the other amiibos capitalized on that. This started a serious rough patch for the veteran.

S5: Season 5 continued with her down slope, completely nullifying her previous success in S2 and S3. She was now a lower-tier amiibo, struggling to get by. The Challenger Series was tough for her, she was unable to perform as well as she used to in her 1v1's and didn't even manage a single win in Phase 2. Not really surprising for her, Phase 2 will never be her strong suit. If Rosalina every want's to be successful again, her 1v1's will definitely need improvement.

S6: Season 6 introduces Wildcard, the Preseason event to slim down the ranks to a more reasonable number of competitors going into S6 Challenger Series. The smaller groups looked to be beneficial for Rosalina, because there wasn't as much room for her to mess this up. She didn't do a terrible job, but it just wasn't good enough to get by. Rosalina is no longer a top contender and for the 3rd Season in a row, she sees an early exit. I really hope there is room for her to improve, and that she won't always be stuck in this rut. Hopefully if I give her a little more sparring time, she can improve and finally make her way back to the top.
