AMIIBO WARS: PEACH STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
PEACH

Debut: Season 1
Highest Placement: 9th Place (Season 4)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 9th out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 13th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS
S1: Much like many of the amiibos that debut, Peach was the pioneer of the slow start. She finished the season in last place. Granted, at the time there was only 10 amiibos. Peach didn't seem as strong as the others and didn't look to have the capabilities that certain other amiibos had. I started to question her effectiveness in general, but I was definitely wrong on that judgment. This was just the beginning, and she helped me realize, some amiibos just need a little more time to shine.

S2: In Season 2, the number of competitors more than doubled. Peach now had even more competition than she already had, and it wasn't looking great for her. Luckily, this increase in amiibos allowed her to develop a more varied playstyle and she was making improvements. He Win/Loss changed drastically from Season 1 and she was no longer negative. Maybe she has something, maybe she is actually getting stronger and maybe she has what it takes to compete with those top tier amiibos.

S3: The Season of Gauntlets. Peach had an above average placement score and maintained her position the whole season. Though she didn't make any outstanding pushes toward the top, she made sure she stayed within the Top 10. This was her best season so far, finishing in 11th place out of 32 amiibos. Peach was an OG at this point, and her experience was starting to show. She may have had a rough start, but now she was actually taking games off some of the best in the business.

S4: The Season 4 Perma-Elimination rules really shook things up a bit, especially for the newer amiibos who really didn't have the experience to hang in there. With the newbies dropping like flies, the veterans of Amiibo Wars were hanging on for dear life. Peach didn't land any Top Scores or make any serious fumbles. She was becoming very consistent and was able to make it into the Top 10 this time, placing 9th out of 37 amiibos. While most of her Season 1 Fam was fluctuating in their scores, Peach always managed to stay towards the top. Though her scores didn't ever take her REALLY high, you could always count on her to make it far.

S5: The Challenger Series was introduced in Season 5, most of the amiibos wouldn't even make it to the Top 20. As new amiibos keep coming in, the veterans are given a bone. Pick off the newbies and maintain their high ranks in the standings. Peach was now a seasoned fighter, and she always seemed to have an edge over the newcomers. Peach could hang in a 1v1 and in FFA/Team Matches. This definitely played in her favor and placed her into the Top 20. After surviving a few Bottom 2 scares, she made it to 16th place before being eliminated. The competition is heating up and the newcomers she used to be able to win off of aren't so easy to beat anymore. This could cause issues for Peach.

S6: The introductions of The Wildcard Pre-Season series isolated the competitors into smaller groups, insuring that they have to fight for their spots this time. There is no where to hide when you're split into groups of 6. This Season's all about skill, and as Peach was placed into Wildcard #1, it seemed the competitors were a little too much for her. She was a victim of an unlucky placement, Jigglypuff/Charizard/Little Mac, are all amazing Previous Top 20 amiibos and deserved to advance. I feel that if Peach had an easier group, she definitely would have moved on. Sadly, this will hurt her ranking and is probably her lowest point so far in Amiibo Wars.

AMIIBO WARS: LUIGI STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
LUIGI

Debut: Season 2
Highest Placement: 6th Place (Season 2)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 19th out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 26th out of 41 (Season 5)
PAST SEASONS
S2: Luigi debuted in Season 2 which up until this point was his shining moment. He had quite a few Top 3 performances even though he didn't manage to win any of the tournaments that season. Season 2 only had 23 competitors, so it was a little easier for the amiibos to shine. As time progressed, many more amiibos were added to the ranks, and that is when things started to get rocky for Luigi.

S3: Season 3 was Gauntlets where the only way to really advance was to win a series of matches to push yourself up the ladder. Luigi didn't thrive as much in this environment as I expected him to. He was definitely overshadowed by Mario. This was Mario's defining moment as a competitor in Amiibo Wars, and Luigi wasn't looking so strong anymore. Mario had taken his position and did it even better.

S4: Season 4 made some drastic changes to the formula once again, doing away with the point system and bringing in permanent eliminations. This made it even more challenging because the amiibos had to perform to keep themselves in the game. Luigi seemed more in his element this season, as competitors dropped like flies, Luigi managed to keep himself above water and even got some top scores in some of the groups. Out of 32 amiibos, Luigi made the halfway point, finishing in 16th place. It was becoming pretty clear that he just didn't seem to have what it took to take it to the next level, but secured enough sway to keep himself in the game at least through the middle of the seasons. Luigi was the ultimate Mid-Tier Competitor.

S5: Season 5 saw the return of Perma-Elimination as well as a handful of new amiibos making their debut. The Challenger Series was a new addition to the competition where we saw a hefty amount of eliminations before the tournament even began. It was now a fight for the Top 20, and only the best of the best made the big stage. Luigi seemed to have a good enough reputation to put himself at least in the Top 20, so things were looking good. This was until his ultimate rival, Mario was placed in his group as well as another Amiibo Wars Top Contender Mega Man, who really put Luigi through hell. Sadly, these two amiibos sealed his fate and put him out of the competition before he could even get started. This was Luigi's lowest point so far in his career and going into Season 6, I was certain he'd make improvements.

S6: Season 6 introduced Wildcard, a variation of The Challenger Series that pits smaller groups against eachother to determine who stays and who goes on their quest to obtaining a Top 20 spot in Season 6. Luigi competes in Wildcard #2 against last seasons big rival, Mega Man. Both do a good job in this group and then the unthinkable happens, Mega Man/Luigi are tied for the 3rd spot and only one of them can advance. The two go head to head in what looked like Mega Man's series at first, but Luigi turned it around and took it home, advancing in the competition and putting out Mega Man early. This was sweet revenge for last season. Luigi is currently still in the running towards the Top 20 for Season 6.

AMIIBO WARS: MARIO STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
MARIO

Debut: Season 1
Highest Placement: 1st Place (Season 3)
Championship Wins: 1
Best Ranking: 1st out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 2nd out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S1: Season 1 was the beginning of a long journey for Mario. When he debuted, amiibos were brand new, some of the bugs and kinks weren't worked out and honestly, Mario was not in a good place. When amiibos first came out, there was an issue with them that made them air dodge at the ledge when being ledge guarded and for amiibos with poor recoveries, this led to them SD'ing A LOT. This issue really held Mario back for a while, and even though he landed himself in 3rd place this season, it was only because the pool of amiibos in Amiibo Wars back then was so small.

S2: Season 2 was probably his lowest point. With a massive group of new amiibos being introduced, this put a huge spotlight on Mario's glitches and weaknesses. He was ultimately overshadowed the entire season by some newcomers who had hit the scene. This was probably Mario's rock bottom, but as they say, it's only up from there.

S3: By the time Season 3 rolled around, changes to amiibos allowed for some of them who were gimped with disadvantages in AI to show what they are really made of. Season 3 was the season of "Gauntlets" where you climbed the ranks by beating one opponent after another. With the amiibo recovery issues being worked out in a patch, this really allowed Mario to shine. He stepped out of the shadows and dominated the competition, running an impressive 10 win streak Gauntlet, placing himself at the top of the pack where he battled Little Mac and Link all season for the throne. It was a power struggle, but ultimately Mario claimed the top spot and won his first Amiibo Wars Championship.

S4: Mario continued his dominance in Season 4, showing how much of a threat he is. He stayed on the heels of his fellow top contenders all season and ultimately finished in 4th place. That buff to recovery really helped him tremendously and he rarely showed any weaknesses after that. Following this Season, Mario's consistent top placing scores put him at the top of the rankings over every other Amiibo in Amiibo Wars. He may not have won Season 4, but he showed he was the most consistent across multiple seasons.

S5: Season 5 wasn't any different from 4 because Mario continued his dominance. He fought his way to the bitter end with little to no push back, only falling to the Bottom 3 once at the end of the season. Little Mac once again proving to be one of Mario's biggest rivals, puts him out in 5th place. This lower placement for him sadly cost him the #1 spot in the rankings. Now at #2, Mario needs to continue to show consistency, and I have no doubt he could take back his #1 spot, no problem.

S6: Mario continues to show his dominance as an Amiibo Wars Legend. Even though he has to fight his way through the masses, he seems unphased. Mario dominates the Wildcard Round and really looks strong going into the Challenger Series. If he somehow gets eliminated there, it will be a massive shock. His Teamfight capabilities have been improving, so hopefully Team Turmoil won't be a huge detriment to his place in the rankings.

AMIIBO WARS: BOWSER STATS

AMIIBO WARS: FOR THE RECORD
BOWSER

Debut: Season 2
Highest Placement: 2nd Place (Season 4)
Championship Wins: 0
Best Ranking: 7th out of 37 (Season 4)
Current Ranking: 15th out of 41 (Season 5)

PAST SEASONS

S2: Bowser debuted in Season 2 which was for the most part a 1v1 style tournament. Granted, there were quite a few Team/FFA matches thrown in, Bowser showed early that he didn't really have the capability of dominating the 1v1 scene. Bowser showed his strength in FFA matches, where he was obliterating the competition with his power and hard hitting attacks.

S3: With Season 3 being even more focused around 1v1 skills, Bowser landed around the middle of the pack, his inability to run the gauntlet left him sitting where he started, ultimately not making an impact at all.

S4: We switched things up in Season 4. giving Bowser much more of a fighting chance. This was his proudest moment because the match types were so diverse. Giving him the ability to have multi man matches just as often as 1v1 matches boosted him all the way to the top where he was in reaching distance of the S4 Crown. Sadly, it didn't pan out and Bowser lost in the Grand Finals to Shulk. 2nd Place

S5: As Season 5 rolled around, Bowser was looking to be a top contender, but following the challenger series, he didn't live up to the hype. Bowser fumbled and struggled, ultimately putting him out early when I was expecting him to easily make it to the Top 20.

S6: Season 6 being named as a Team Tournament, you'd expect Bowser to climb his way back to the top. Wildcard gave him the opportunity to redeem himself because the Team/FFA phase is worth just as much as the 1v1's. Sadly, he just couldn't carry himself through and his 1v1 score was too much of a detriment to his overall score.

AMIIBO WARS: (S6 PRESEASON) WILDCARD #6

AMIIBO WARS WILDCARD #6 (SEASON 6 PRESEASON)
(COMPLETED)
*UPDATED 4/5*

AMIIBO WARS Wildcard is upon us, once again. In the last group was saw ANOTHER Amiibo Wars Top Player out early. (Check it out here!) I can't believe so many Top 20's from Season 5 have been dropping like flies. This next group is looking pretty good for a couple Amiibo Wars Veterans who will most likely smoke through this group. There are also a few Wildcards not to be counted out so quickly. This one will be interesting because I honestly have no idea how it will play out. I think I have a good idea about 2 of them advancing, but the other spot is completely up in the air. Wildcard #6 is on the way!

WILDCARD #6 COMPETITORS

LAST SEASON we saw an amiibo go from the top to the bottom, two underdogs push their way through the Top 20, and a newcomer failed to make an impact. Also, two new amiibos start their Amiibo Wars Career here at Wildcard #6. BOWSER has seen his fair share of success in Amiibo Wars, but last season was a career low. He was out in the first round and unable to compete in the Top 20, coming right off of a 2nd place finish from Season 4. Proof that not every amiibo can consistently hold their place at the Top. Bowser is looking to redeem himself, and I think he will do just that in this group. MII BRAWLER makes his debut in Season 6, can he do what the Gunner and Swordsman couldn't, and at least advance? I think he has a good shot. I don't think this group is quite as competitive as the last, so we could see an underdog squeeze through the cracks. WARIO had a surprising showing last season. When I completely expected him out in the preseason, he proved me wrong. His Top 20 start was pretty rocky, he hovered around the bottom of the pack til his elimination, but he fought hard to stay in the game, and even survived some brutal elimination scares. Ultimately he landed in 15th for the season, which IMO is very commendable. Judging from Wario's past experience, he thrives in Team/FFA matches, so I think if he makes it to the Top 20 this season, he could make it even farther than he did in the last one. BOWSER JR didn't have a lot of opportunities to show his skills. He came into Season 5 very green with little training and it showed, I think he will do better this season since he's got more matches under his belt since then. Do I expect him to make it out? Not really, but you just never know who's going to shine in Amiibo Wars these days. GAME & WATCH makes his debut in Season 6. He hasn't had a ton of practice, but from what I've seen, I think he has potential to do really well here. I thought his AI was pretty good, and his skill set could give him some advantages. He's definitely going to be one I watch this season. IKE is another example of a down and out amiibo making a great comeback. Last Season he had a strong showing in the Preseason and even held his own against the Top 20 competition. Ike managed to make it all the way to 12th, following a terrible Season 4 performance where he was one of the first amiibos to be eliminated. He made great strides as an Amiibo Wars Veteran, and has greatly improved. I definitely expect him to advance, but judging from the past, my predictions haven't been the most accurate. Wildcard #6 is interesting because I have less of an idea who will shine/flop than any other group so far. Phase 1 is up next, stay tuned!

WILDCARD PHASE 1

BOWSER once again proves that 1v1's are not his strong suit. Even though he has a history of being one of the best Team/FFA competitors, if you can't hang in a 1v1 without being carried by equipment, you're not going to get anywhere in Amiibo Wars. Apparently Bowser is amazing with Equipment, but without it, the records speak for themselves. If put in a situation where he has to fight 1v1 to save himself, he almost never does. That being said, we've seen amiibos come back from horrible 1v1's in Phase 2 and advance, so if Bowser can make it to the Top 20, I think he has a great chance of winning this season. The 1v1's are definitely his weakness, and may once again put him out early.

MII BRAWLER doesn't have the best debut. Still green and working on his technique, he did better than I expected him to. He put up a good fight in most match ups but was struggling to get kills. 2 out of 5 isn't horrible, he still has a reasonably good chance to make it up in Phase 2. Sadly, I'm not so sure he can do well in Phase 2. I don't have a ton of experience watching this amiibo, but I know his recovery is pretty weak and that is a huge detriment in the Phase 2 Matches. Wildcard has been full of surprises though, so who knows?

WARIO does what he always does, skates right above mediocrity. In Amiibo Wars, Wario has a reputation of skating by as far as he can get. Typically this has gotten him fairly far, but he never makes it all the way. With 3 out of 5 wins, he has a good chance of making it out of this group. Considering he doesn't have a super difficult set of opponents, I think he could definitely be advancing.

BOWSER JR also has an above average showing. Comparing to his debut last season, I think he has definitely improved. He put up a good fight in all of his matches, and is looking like he could definitely be a contender for Top 3 in this group. I still don't have a good idea if he will perform well in Phase 2, but I think he has potential. Bowser Jr is one I have my eye on this season, I think he will only get better and better the more matches he plays.

GAME & WATCH has an underwhelming debut. He did "okay" in most matches but he was really struggling to finish stocks and got too far behind to make a comeback. It could be that he's still a little too green, or it could be that his skill set isn't doing him enough favors. Either way, he's had a pretty bad score and the chances of him making it out of this group are slim. He will definitely need to pull out all the stops in the next phase to advance.

IKE destroys the group. The 2nd amiibo to landslide the Phase 1 Matches this season and is proving to me just how strong of a competitor he is in Amiibo Wars. I definitely think Ike will be making it back to the Top 20 for Season 6 and I'm even going to predict a Top 10 finish. It could be a stretch, but I think Ike has what it takes to do really well in Season 6. Points are looking close in this group, so I think Phase 2 will be a definite deciding factor. With only Ike sitting pretty after this group, who knows who will be advancing. Phase 2 is coming up next!

WILDCARD PHASE 2

PHASE 2 is going to determine everything in this group. Aside from Ike's amazing performance in the first phase, everyone else's scores are pretty close. Two spots remain in the Top 3 for a chance at advancing. With Ike so far ahead in points, I don't think there is any way he will drop out of the Top 3, even if he doesn't win any matches. Bowser Jr and Wario won't have to work too hard to advance but Mii Brawler is close behind. Bowser and Game & Watch will need to do major work to get out of this group, which would require them to win all 3 matches. Anything is possible, this group is very hard to predict, are you ready for Phase 2? It's up next!

THE RESULTS ARE IN!

WILDCARD #6 MVP

IKE really showed his experience in this group. He exterminated the competition in the 1v1 phase, which secured his spot in the top 3. Managing 1 out of 3 in Phase 2 made it 100% certain he would be advancing. Ike didn't do quite as well in Phase 2, maybe he didn't feel a need to, but he's definitely going to have to up his game in the future if he plans to make it to the end. The next group certainly won't be as easy as this one.

REDEMPTION AND ANOTHER STOLEN SPOT!!

BOWSER JR. was really impressive this time around. He put up a fight in all of his 1v1's and even got revenge on Ike in Phase 2 which secured his spot in the Top 3. Bowser Jr. performed pretty good in the Team Matches and I think he deserved this advancement. Do I think he has a chance of making it far? Not really, but I'm definitely seeing improvement, and I wouldn't be surprised if he atleast makes it to Top 20. MII BRAWLER steals away Wario's 3rd place spot. 1 point separated the two and I feel like Brawler may have just been lucky with his Teammates in Phase 2. He managed to get both Ike and Bowser on his Team Matches. I think this helped him because of his inability to finish stocks was no longer an issue with two killing machines to finish the job. I don't see him getting far, I don't think he's strong enough to hang with the big dogs, and I suspect he will be out before Top 20. He could prove me wrong, but my faith in him is pretty low.

THE END OF THE ROAD

WARIO was looking good in this group, but his mediocrity finally bit him in the ass early. I felt like his team performances were great, he just couldn't carry the teammates he was given. So if he can't even do that, he doesn't belong in the Top 20 anyway. That's what Season 6 is going to be all about. I felt like Mii Brawler got lucky and stole his spot away, but it's randomized, so nothing can be done about it. Wario is a pretty good Amiibo Wars contender and can take games off the best of them, he's proved it in the past and I'm sure he will continue to do pretty well in the future. BOWSER once again drops the ball. He went from a hero to a zero real quick in Amiibo Wars. I know people are probably shocked because he's viewed so highly in the "Equipment" Amiibo World, but Bowser just really isn't anything special in "Vanilla". He's too slow to match the stronger/faster amiibos and his only real strength is team/ffa matches. If he can't manage to atleast do a decent job in his 1v1's then he's never going to get anywhere in Amiibo Wars. Back when he made it to 2nd Place in Season 4, the whole tournament was a mix between team/ffa/1v1's and I think that's what carried him to the end. GAME & WATCH showed his inexperience here. Yes I know, I always say this, but it's just the reality for newer amiibos. They start at the bottom and they have to develop their strategies to advance themselves in this series. Some of the best amiibos in Amiibo Wars now, started out losing a lot and struggling. It's just the nature of the beast and I think Game & Watch does have the potential to get places once he gains more experience and skill. Only a handful of amiibos remain and some big names have yet to compete. Another exciting edition of Amiibo Wars Wildcard is on the way soon, keep an eye out!!

ROY Amiibo Guide

ROY
VERY STRONG TIER

My time so far with Roy has been great. I've watched him handily beat some of the best amiibos in the game consistently which is rare for a newly trained amiibo. He is giving me flashbacks to Dark Pit who was absolutely destroying all competition pretty much. Roy is a Swordfighter with a lot of great options. His damage output is great, he has True Combos with Down Throw and of course you can't forget the infamous Counter. The AI so far has been pretty good with spacing and doesn't seem to overuse moves that will get him punished. He also possesses the Dancing Blade which I think is a strong move for amiibos to have, and he uses it well. Roy is a fighter, he's a damage dealer and can really put on the pressure. I've heard of issues with him spamming too many aerials but mine personally has a nice mix. He tends to use all of his moves equally and to full effect. That seems to be rare with a lot of amiibos, since most of them will abuse their better moves. I think with the proper training, Roy can rival any strong amiibo. He may not have a shield breaker but he makes up for that with his damage output, true combo options and powerful kill potential. If you like Roy, he's well worth your time!

PROS:
  • Heavy Damage Output
  • Dancing Blades Is Strong
  • Counter
  • True Combo
  • Smart AI
  • Lots of Kill Options
  • Tipper Mechanic
CONS:
  • Can become spammy with aerials
  • B Moves have a little lag, can get punished if he misses
  • No Long Range Options/Gap Closers
TRAINING MUSTS:
  • Teach him to Grab/Pummel as usual
  • Make sure he knows how to combo with Down Throw into Up Tilt, as well as Up B
  • Utilize all B Moves, all are strong, just use them sparingly and show him he can kill with each
  • Utilize Counter especially, these moves are always strong in amiibo fights
  • Can juggle with Up Tilt at lower percents
  • Utilize all aerials sparingly, use them for spacing and teach him to kill with these
  • Show him how to spike with down air, even on stage it can kill at higher percents
  • Utilize all tilts
  • Teach him to use Blade Dance, the AI will automatically combo it properly even if you aren't good at it yourself
  • Don't put a lot of focus on Charging Neutral B's, he will almost never land them, so just use the quick tap version of the move, it can kill at higher percents

RYU Amiibo Guide

RYU
STRONG TIER

Ryu definitely has potential if you main him or prefer him as a character. But basing off the amiibo's AI, I think you're going to run into a few difficulties when training him. Ryu loves his B Moves and he prioritizes them a little too much. I think because he struggles to land his slower moving tilts, he resorts to B Moves and aerials, which doesn't suit him at all. His aerials are fairly weak and his over-usage of them tend to get him punished a lot. The biggest problem I noticed with him is his obsession with trying to read his opponents into a Down B. It just doesn't work, almost ever, but still insists on using it constantly. On the upside, Ryu has a lot of damage output, his side b is strong because it lingers and can catch them out of shield, and his Up B is a great option for killing and dealing damage. (If he can land it.) I pitted him against multiple tiers of amiibos and the AI's inconsistencies put him behind in a lot of matchups. He didn't do very well to begin with but the more he plays a matchup, the better chances he has of beating them. His recovery is pretty bad, I think it does set him back a bit. I've seen him SD quite a few times because he got knocked out of a jump with no chance to recover from it. Yes he can side b into up b in a lot of cases to gain more ground but I've seen multiple amiibos put him in a position to not recover, which happens a lot in Team/FFA matches. Ryu is very powerful (much like Little Mac), and his recovery isn't quite as bad. But I also think Little Mac is a bit stronger, so that may be the trade off. With enough effort, he could be great. He is an amiibo that will take a little more time to fully develop. I also think he will require a more hands on approach when training.

PROS:
  • Great Damage Output
  • Lots of kill options
  • Lingering Hit Boxes
  • Long/Mid/Short Range Options
  • Great Smash Attacks
  • Side/Up B Really Strong
CONS:
  • Bad AI holds him back
  • Weak in Team/FFA Matches
  • Easily gimpable/Bad Recovery (Compared to others)
  • Can become spammy
  • No Kill Throw
TRAINING MUSTS:
  • This amiibo you want to train to play more defensively, he is too slow to be an aggressor
  • Focus lots of grabs/pummels
  • Train him to kill with all Smash Attacks
  • Use Side B and Up B efficiently, teach him to kill with both at higher percents
  • Neutral B is "okay" at far range, but it's not a priority move, it's very slow moving so it doesn't land often. It does land on occasion though
  • Teach him to kill with aerials but do not use them often
  • Look up his combos, teach him as many as you can do because I believe the amiibo will easily retain the information
  • I've seen him combo off of down tilt but he doesn't do it often, so play around with that option.
  • Jab Combo is good and definitely a good option for this amiibo
  • Focus on tilts, try to get him to prioritize these moves, it's what makes Ryu the character he is
