MEWTWO Amiibo Guide

MEWTWO
VERY STRONG TIER

Mewtwo's potential is through the roof. He has a lot of great options in his skill set that allow him to rival even the best amiibos. Mewtwo is one of the few amiibos that will actually True Combo off of Down Tilt as well as True Combo off of his Down Throw. Not many amiibos have multiple True Combo options, most of them have one and some of them don't have any. There are a few strategies I consider to be very strong in amiibo fights which include Shielding to Up Smash, Lingering Hit Boxes and Kill Throws, all of which Mewtwo has in his arsenal. If you want to get the most out of this amiibo, you have to teach him to True Combo, teach him to play defensively and punish incoming attackers with a Shield Into Up Smash. Utilizing his Kill Throw at high percents is also very important. You do not want him jumping around doing a bunch of aerials or trying to teach him to play super aggressive, these strategies will not work for him. There are a few downsides to Mewtwo as well. His B Moves are difficult for the amiibo to land which basically makes them useless. Lag on some of his moves isn't really compensated with a lot of damage like other slower characters. There is also a glitch I noticed with him where he would randomly Up B on stage and go over the ledge, leading to him losing a stock for no reason. DO NOT use his Up B on stage for any reason. Though he has a few minor issues, I think his positives greatly outweigh his negatives. He adapts very well to his opponents and if he loses a match, the chances of him coming back and getting a win the second time around are pretty high. The Up B glitch hasn't really happened since getting him to 50, but it still worries me that he might throw some games because of it. I'll keep my eye on this situation. Overall Mewtwo is awesome, and I think if you are an Equipment Trainer, he definitely fits into the defensive meta.

PROS:

  • Multiple True Combos
  • Kill Throw
  • Lingering Up Smash
  • Great Smash Attacks
  • Good Long/Mid/Short Range Options
  • Amazing Neutral Air seems to lock opponents in it
  • Excels in all Match Types

CONS:

  • Glitch with Up B can lead to him losing a stock
  • Weak B Moves, hard to land
  • Will jump and shoot Neutral B's randomly
  • Laggy Moves Don't Do Enough Damage
  • Struggles against Quick Rushdown

TRAINING MUSTS:

  • Focus Grab/Pummeling VERY IMPORTANT on Mewtwo
  • This amiibo needs to be trained as a Grab Heavy amiibo
  • Train him to play defensively, it will be the most effective strategy for this amiibo
  • Shielding into Up Smash will be one of his most useful tools, make sure he learns to do this and kill with this strategy
  • B Moves are wonky and difficult for him to land so they shouldn't be your main focus
  • Don't use Up B on stage at all, if he uses it randomly and goes off the ledge, he's dead, so avoid this skill at all costs unless recovering
  • Utilize his multiple true combo options with Down Throw and Down Tilt
  • Down Tilt to Up Air/F Air/Neutral Air is viable
  • Down Throw into Dash Attack/F Air is viable
  • Utilize all Smash Attacks, make sure he know he can kill with them
  • Use his Neutral Air to catch jumping opponents, the amiibos get locked in this and take a lot of damage
  • Make sure he knows he can kill with F Air and Back Air, just don't overuse aerials, he needs to stay grounded for the most part
  • Use Neutral B at range, make sure he knows to full charge them and kill with them
  • Teach him to kill with Up Throw at high percents

FALCO Amiibo Guide

FALCO
AVERAGE TIER

Falco seems to be a much better version of Fox Amiibo, but what does that amount to? Nothing really. These characters require skills that amiibos just don't possess to be effective in Smash. Characters like Fox and Falco are forced into an aggressive role which in the amiibo world, doesn't go over too well. Though Falco is very similar to Fox, his skills are a little bit better suited for amiibo fights, and he doesn't seem to break and start spamming moves like Fox does. When training Falco it seemed he may be pretty good, his ultra aggression was very effective until the amiibos reaction times started ramping up. Do I think Falco has potential to do "okay"? Yes. But I wouldn't bet all your money on this amiibo ever winning you a tournament or becoming one of your best. Ultra Aggressive Amiibos aren't typically successful and in the case of Falco, he doesn't have the options to play defensively. Pretty much all of his moves force him to go in and in a lot of cases, that is going to get him punished. Falco has great damage output and some pretty good lingering hit boxes on his moves, but with his B Moves not doing much for him other than blocking attacks and closing distance, he doesn't have a lot of options other than rushing into his opponent. There will be Matchups where his ultra aggression will be an asset and I'm sure he will do fine considering he isn't as glitchy as Fox, but overall, I don't see him as anything more than average. Feeding Equipment to characters like Fox and Falco to offset their weaknesses is probably the only way to make these characters viable. In my world of "Vanilla" Amiibos, they don't really have a place sadly. :/

PROS:

  • Great Smash Attacks
  • Great Aerials
  • Quick and Evasive
  • Kill Throw
  • Lingering Hit Boxes

CONS:

  • Weak Throws
  • No True Combo That The Amiibo Will Do
  • Forced To Play Aggressive, Gets Punished
  • Struggles In Most Matchups
  • Niche Character, Only Effective Against Weaker Amiibos

TRAINING MUSTS:

  • Grab and Pummel often as usual
  • Utilize all Smash Attacks, make sure he knows he can kill with all of them
  • Teach him to kill with F Throw at the ledge at high percents
  • Try to teach him True Combos, from what I can tell he won't do any but maybe I overlooked one (let me know if I did)
  • Don't use too many aerials, but make sure he knows how to use/kill with them effectively
  • Utilize all Tilts, Up Tilt can kill at high percents
  • Try not to Up B on Stage for damage, he will start randomly doing it and it's not effective
  • Teach him to use his Down B Reflector to block projectiles
  • Use Side B, the amiibo can/will use it to close distance on opponents
  • Use his Neutral B at far range but don't overdo it, the move has lag and could get him punished at closer ranges

MII SWORDSMAN Amiibo Guide

MII SWORDSMAN
STRONG TIER

The Mii Swordsman isn't considered very good in Smash but as an amiibo I think your outlook may change. The Swordsman is what I consider a mix of great Smash Swordsman spliced together, and thats also what sets him apart, making him an interesting addition. Though his range seems to be shorter than most Swordsman, his damage output is insane with the amiibo damage boosts. A few good combos from this amiibo can really put him far ahead. He possesses a Counter Attack which IMO is probably the best skill for an Amiibo to have because they basically get damage off for free and amiibos are very skilled at landing them. On top of his great damage output, the Mii Swordsman has some good utility with his Neutral B, releasing a gust of wind that does damage at a long range and can knock opponents into the air, sometimes following up with an aerial attack. This move can also be used to harass off stage which I think is always a useful thing for an amiibo to have. His Up B can come in handy as well, but you have to be careful because if he lands it often, he will start spamming it. At higher levels fighting amiibos, his ability to land this fades out and he won't spam it nearly as much, so don't worry if he does. This move hits once on the ground as he leaps up, and again as he lands. Amiibos seem to have trouble countering this attack, so in a lot of cases it's free damage for him. Match that with his ability to Counter Attack and in he can rack up so much damage, taking little to none himself. This amiibo does have some downsides, his aerials have tiny hit boxes that make them less desirable options. He definitely needs to know he can kill with them though, because in some cases he will finish off opponents that way. I just wouldn't suggest focusing a lot on them at all. Like all Mii Fighters, he has some lag on abilities that can make them hard to land on amiibos. I also feel like he could struggle against amiibos who play similarly and outrange him at the same time, this seems to be his only real weaknesses. Overall I think this amiibo has so much potential and shouldn't be overlooked.. He may not be good in the actual game but I think in the amiibo world, he's a force that shouldn't be underestimated. I've tested him against some of the amiibos I placed in "Overpowered Tier" and it was neck and neck to the very end. With a little more training, I think he could even take games off of them. One thing to keep in mind about this amiibo is that he isn't flashy, he will cheese for wins, no matter how unflattering his tactics are. A win is still a win imo.

PROS:
  • Great B Moves
  • Counter
  • Great Damage
  • Great Smash Attacks
  • Great Recovery
  • Durable for a Swordfighter
  • Excels in all Match Types
  • True Combo
CONS:
  • Can Become Spammy with Up B, Be Careful
  • Aerials Arent The Best
  • Not As Rangey As Some Swordfighters
  • Struggles when Outranged
TRAINING MUSTS:

  • Focus Grabbing/Pummeling as usual
  • I would suggest keeping him with the basic skill set, the others aren't nearly as useful
  • Utilize Counter but dont overdo it, he needs to know he can kill with it
  • Up B is a pretty powerful move with not a lot of counterplay in amiibo world
  • Use his Neutral B to harass at range and harass off stage, he can also follow up on opponents after they get knocked into the air, so make sure to do that
  • Aerials are weak, I'd suggest not spending much time in the air with this one
  • Utilize his Strong Smash attacks, especially F Smash, it's VERY strong
  • Keep the Generic Side B, he uses it to recover if possible and it really helps him out a lot of the time. As far as using it for damage, it's not really the best and he doesn't use it often
  • Utilize all tilts
  • Teach him to Down Throw into F Air for a True Combo at lower percents

MII BRAWLER Amiibo Guide

MII BRAWLER
AVERAGE TIER

The Mii Brawler has a lot of positives but the negatives are just as prevalent. This amiibo is cursed with a wonky skill set that leaves him in a confusing position, and though he has a lot of great moves, some of them are just outright useless. The crazy thing about this amiibo is that even with his weak skillset, he can still rival some of the best amiibos and take games off of them. His Side B and Neutral B are outstanding addition, these moves allow him to engage without having to get in really close, which is a problem that plagues quite a few close ranged amiibos, rendering them nearly useless. Neutral B is the Shot Put, which is a giant ball he tosses out that does insane damage without requiring any charge up. The amiibo is skilled at using this ability and lands it very often. His Smash Attacks hit HARD, and can really turn games around if he's behind, and his Side B is a dash that latches onto opponents with a flurry of punches that follows up with an uppercut to the sky. This move has a lot of kill potential and is something you definitely want him to learn. The problems that arise with this amiibo are his weak aerials that he struggles to land, his terrible Up B and Down B which IMO are worthless and not worth teaching him, and he has a lot of lag on pretty much all of his hard hitting moves, which can definitely be a detriment in amiibo fights. Even though I personally think he's stronger than almost all of the Average Tier amiibos, I feel like having a disadvantage with his skill set being only half useful sets him back from being great. He will definitely be a good addition to those who put the work into him and has the potential to rival your best amiibos. Maybe some of his custom moves could fix his inconsistencies.

PROS:

  • Smash Attacks Hit Hard
  • Kill Throw
  • Shot Put Hits Hard and Amiibo Lands It Well
  • Durable for a Close Ranged Fighter

CONS:

  • Terrible Recovery
  • Struggles in FFA/Team Matches
  • Struggles against rangier opponents
  • Lag on most of his moves can leave him vulnerable
  • Weak Aerials
  • No Lingering Hit Boxes

TRAINING MUSTS:
  • With this amiibo I would avoid aerials if you want him to be effective,  his aerials are short ranged and difficult for the amiibo to land so use of these will only put him in bad situations to get punished.
  • Keep him grounded and focus on a lot of Grabbing/Pummeling
  • His Side B and Neutral B are great options that he needs to be using, both of them can lead to kills so make sure he knows this
  • Teach him to kill with F Throw at the ledge
  • His Neutral B is great for doing damage at a distance and even gimping them off stage
  • Utilize all tilts as usual
  • I wouldn't suggest using Up B for anything other than recover, and I wouldn't use Down B at all, it's useless for this amiibo
  • Utilize all Smash Attacks, they are very nice and do a lot of damage, make sure he knows he can kill with each one

LUCAS Amiibo Guide

LUCAS
VERY STRONG TIER

I'm sure the question on everyone's mind is "Is Lucas On Par With Ness?!" and the answer is No. Lucas is a great amiibo, don't get me wrong, but everything Lucas can do.... Ness does it better. PK Pulse>PK Freeze, Ness Aerials>Lucas Aerials, Ness PK Thunder>Lucas PK Thunder. The only major thing Lucas has going for him in comparison to Ness is his insanely powerful Up Smash. Lucas' Up Smash is probably one of the best Amiibo Smash Attacks in the game. Now away from the comparison to Ness, Lucas proves to be quite a threat in the amiibo world. His moveset is very effective against most amiibos... Do I think he could stack up to "Overpowered" amiibos? Not really, but in comparison to all of the other ones, I'd say he's pretty far up the chain, if not at the top. Lucas does have some great moves in his arsenal, such as his True Combo with Down Throw into Up Air, his Lingering Neutral Air and PK Thunder which doesn't rival Ness' but still puts out quite a punch in battle. From what I've gathered, his weaknesses lie in his shorter range and lag on some of his abilities, which may leave him vulnerable. He is a high risk high reward amiibo and my eye is firmly set on him to see if he actually may be able to rival Ness and the other "Overpowerd" Amiibos. At first glance I don't think he can, but he's definitely a worthy contender to the majority, I just think I need a little more time to truly know where he stands.

PROS:
  • Great Damage Output
  • Uncounterable Recovery
  • Insanely Powerful Smash Attacks
  • Lingering Hit Boxes
  • Two Powerful Kill Throws
CONS:
  • Doesn't realize PK Thunder cant go through platforms
  • Weak/Short Ranged Aerials, Hard To Land
  • Clone Skills To Ness are Weaker In Comparison
  • Very Squishy
  • Doesn't follow up when a PK Freeze lands
TRAINING MUSTS:
  • As always make sure to Grab and Pummel often
  • Train him to play more defensively, Shield into Up Smash will be his strongest asset
  • Teach him to PK Thunder into opponents, make sure he knows what percents to kill with it
  • Utilize his PK Fire for spacing and damage
  • Use of Zair is fine, he will use it on occasion
  • Teach him to Utilize his Down Throw into Up Air at lower percents for a True Combo
  • Teach him to kill with Back Throw and Up Throw at higher percents
  • Don't bother as much with PK Freeze, he doesn't land it as often and can't ledge guard with it like Ness can with PK Pulse
  • Utilize his Neutral Air more than others, the amiibo can rack up a lot of damage with this skill
  • Utilize all other aerials equally and make sure he knows he can kill with them
  • Utilize all Smash Attacks, make sure he knows he can kill with them
  • Make sure he knows to use Down B to absorb projectiles

MII GUNNER Amiibo Guide

MII GUNNER
AVERAGE TIER

Mii Gunner is what we all wish Samus Amiibo was. She has a more acceptable speed with delivering moves, has exceptional range and is one of the few amiibos that can "sucessfully" keep her distance and dish out a lot of damage. I think she stands apart from all other amiibos with her AI's original playstyle of fading in and out of close range to keep her opponents guessing, this can definitely work in her favor. She possesses quite a few lingering hit boxes that allow her to catch amiibos out of shields and dodges fairly easily. But does lack on some of her moves, which have wonky hitboxes or lag that make them difficult to land. All of her smash attacks have their uses and her B Moves are "okay". A real downside for this amiibo though, is her aerials having extremely tiny hitboxes, so in a lot of cases it's hard for her to land them. Other than that, I view this amiibo as a a decent addition that is worthy of your attention if you like the character. She retains what you teach better than most and won't take a whole lot of work to train effectively.

PROS:
  • Good Rangey Amiibo.
  • Decent Smash Attacks
  • Kill Throw
  • Great Lingering Hit Boxes
  • Good AI, Retains Information Well
  • Effective in all Match Types
  • True Combos with D Throw
CONS:
  • Recovery is weak
  • Sometimes randomly uses reflector shield for no reason
  • May struggle in some matchups to get in and finish a stock
  • Some lag on moves can have her struggling to land attacks
TRAINING MUSTS:
  • Make sure you always grab and pummel on every amiibo, show her she can kill with Up Throw at about 180%
  • Utilize her great B Moves, especially emphasize fully charging her Neutral B shots as well as showing her she can kill with it. Side B is also a valuable tool for spacing. Use her reflector sparingly, only when you have a projectile coming at you or she may use it randomly for no reason
  • Use all of her aerials and make sure she knows she can kill with Up Air, Back Air and F Air over the ledge
  • Teach her to combo off of her Down Throw at low percents
  • As always, utilize all tilts and jabs
  • She can juggle with her Up Tilt at low percents

AMIIBO WARS: (S6 PRESEASON) WILDCARD #1

AMIIBO WARS WILDCARD #1 (SEASON 6 PRESEASON)
(COMPLETED)
*Updated 02/01*

WELCOME to the first ever Amiibo Wars Wildcard! Wildcard is going to be a preseason event heading into each season that will determine who will make it to the main stage. This will be similar to Season 5's Challenger Series but with even less room for them to make mistakes. Every Amiibo will be competing in this preseason event but the ones with the lowest scores (much like in the S5 Challenger Series) will be eliminated from the competition. Season 6 will only hold 20 spots, so with there being over 50 amiibos currently, prepare for a hefty number of eliminations. Wildcard is going to be much more unforgiving because it's going to be broken down into groups of 6. There is no where to hide this time around, these groups will only see 3 contestants out of the 6 moving on towards a shot at the Season 6 Championship. The rules will remain similar to the rules of Season 5.. all competitors must face each other competitor in a 1v1 and there will be a second phase with special stipulations such as Team/Item/Smash Ball Matches, for those amiibos who may not be as strong in a 1v1 situation.

(Spoilers Ahead! Click Here To Read Season 5 Before Continuing!)

THE Top 3 from Season 5 will automatically be invited to the Top 20... So Shulk and Dark Pit are automatically advancing to the Top 20... Well, who is the third you ask? Considering that the runners up for Third and Fourth Place tied in their scores for last season, it's only fair that in the spirit of competition we will open up this First Annual Wildcard Event with a Best of 5 between two of Amiibo Wars finest competitors.... Ness and Little Mac, who both held the 3rd Place spot last season. Both of these competitors have remained consistently strong throughout the history of Amiibo Wars, but which one of them deserves a by to the big stage? One of them will move on to the Top 20 and the other will have to fight their way to Season 6! Following this Best of 5, the loser will be added into the pool of 5 other contestants vying for a chance at redemption. It's going to be interesting! Will the Top 20 look the same as Last Season? Or are we going to see things get shaken up once again?! Amiibo Wars is back and better than ever!

WILDCARD OPENING MATCH
(WINNER GETS A BY TO SEASON 6 TOP 20)

LITTLE MAC vs. NESS
(Bo5)

THIS matchup is for a by to Season 6, completely bypassing this grueling process. These two competitors scored a tie for Third Place in Season 5, but considering only 3 amiibos receive an automatic pass to the Top 20, they must now break their tie and determine who gets to take the easy path and who is going to have to earn their way back to the top. There will be no special stipulations involved in this Bo5, it will be a Standard 3-Stock 1v1 contest that will continue on until one of the competitors has reached 3 wins.

MATCH 1 Little Mac opens up with a strong lead, dishing out a lot of damage quickly, but Ness retaliates with a few combos to even things out and even takes the first stock. Ness takes a commanding lead by punishing Little Macs poor recovery and gains a stock advantage. Mac doesn't let up though and manages to even things back out towards the end.. Ultimately NESS' early lead is too much and he finishes off Mac before it's too late.

MATCH 2 Little Mac starts this match off much more defensive, but Ness quickly adapts. The two end eachothers first stock at the same time. The percents stay even throughout the second stock, continuing the trend of the two K.Oing eachother at the same time. The final stock is very close with both sitting at 140%. Once again NESS manages to pull ahead by the skin of his teeth, catching Mac in an Up Air for the kill and his second win in this Best of 5. Little Mac came much closer this time, but is Ness just one step ahead in this matchup? Little Mac will need to win the next 3 matches to secure his spot in the Top 20. It's not looking too good for him.

MATCH 3 is the best chance for Little Mac to score a win so far, the map is randomized to be Final Destination which definitely puts the ball in Mac's court. Though the stocks stay even as usual, this time it's Little Mac who scores the first K.O. and takes the lead. Little Mac really steps up his game, pulling a full two stocks ahead of Ness. His expert use of defense and counters lead to LITTLE MAC's first win of the series. Can he make a comback?!

MATCH 4 kicks off neck and neck with both competitors quickly shooting into the red. Little Mac manages to pull ahead once again just like last match but on the second stock Ness manages to gimp Little Mac's recovery, pulling pretty far ahead. Little Mac plays it safe and manages to dominate Ness's second stock, evening out things once more. The final stock is very back and forth as Little Mac lands some expert counters to ensure his safety. As Mac enters the red he doesn't kill Ness quick enough and is sent flying, with no chance of recovering. That means NESS has secured his spot in the Top 20 for Season 6 and now Little Mac has to fight his way back to the top of the pack.

THE matches were very close, but ultimately NESS manages to secure his spot in the Season 6 Top 20! Ness has proven himself as a true Amiibo Wars Contender, but his struggles arise when pitted against Two Time Champion Shulk, who seems to always come out on top. With Season 6 being a Team Competition, is this Ness' chance to dethrone the king? Will his Team Fighting skills outshine the competition? We will have to wait and see as the Top 20 is announced and the teams are made for Amiibo Wars Season 6: Team Turmoil! Up next will be the first set of 5 competing for a spot in the Top 20. Little Mac will be placed against 4 other competitors picked at random, can he make it past the first round? Or will a shocking defeat here put out one of Amiibo Wars most notorious veterans? Wildcard #1 is coming up next!

WILDCARD #1 COMPETITORS

LAST SEASON four of these amiibos made it to the Top 20. LITTLE MAC redeemed his poor performance from Season 4 where he was one of the first amiibos eliminated. In Season 5 he came back with a vengence. You can't knock his determination because after falling to the Bottom 3 multiple times, Little Mac managed to come out on top, eliminating a handful of competitors single handely. He then proceeded to make it all the way to the Final 4 and even tied for 3rd Place with Ness. (Who has just snatched the 3rd spot from him for a by to the Top 20) He's the one to watch in this Wildcard Event, if he is eliminated it will definitely be a shock. JIGGLYPUFF made her debut in Season 5 where she floated her way through the Challenger Series and earned a spot in the Top 20. Sadly her inexperience held her back and she was one of the first two eliminated from the big stage. Will this be her season to shine? YOSHI has had some up and downs, he has been in Amiibo Wars since Season 1 and never managed to make it past the middle of the pack. Last Season Yoshi didn't make the Top 20, but could recent changes to Yoshi Amiibo's AI give him the push he needs to make a name for himself this season? Only time will tell. CHARIZARD has had a complete turnaround from Season 4 where he made his debut. He was the first amiibo to be eliminated, which had me questioning him as a contender. But when Season 5 rolled around, he was a different beast. He obliterated the Challenger Series and even in the Top 20, scorched the competition getting a handful of top scores in multiple group stages. Charizard finished in 8th Place which I'd say is a major improvement. Can he take it all the way to the top this time? PEACH has been a contender in Amiibo Wars since Season 1. She remains to be one of the most consistent, always hovering around the Top 10. Last Season however was probably one of her worst performances. She made it into the Top 20 but she only placed 16th, which definitely isn't as good as her previous placements. Peach needs to step up her game in Season 6 because the competition is only getting harder. GRENINJA made his debut in Season 5, but much like Charizard's Season 4 Fumble, Greninja didn't get a chance to leave his mark. Will he be able to redeem himself here at Wildcard? Or will he continue to strike out and fail to make an impact? This Poke-Tastic Wildcard is up next! Phase 1 will be the 1v1 Phase where each contender must face all other amiibos in a Standard 3 Stock 1v1 Matchup.

WILDCARD PHASE 1

PHASE 1 is going to pit each of the 6 amiibos vs. their 5 opponents in a Standard 1v1 3 Stock Matchup. The points received from this phase are 2 points for a win and -1 point for a loss. The 1v1 Phase may not give as many points as Phase 2 but it's still very important and can make or break their total in the end.

LITTLE MAC seems to have tilted after his earlier loss to Ness. His performances in Phase 1 of this group stage have set him back pretty far. Only managing 1 win in the Phase he has the most experience in has really put him in a bad spot. He has shown in the past that Phase 2 isn't really where he shines and last season dropped to the elimination round multiple times because of it, having to fight his way through to save himself. Wildcard isn't as forgiving, if he doesn't make the Top 3 in this group, he's out, he doesn't get a chance to fight for his survival... This isn't looking good for Mac, he could be seeing another Early Tournament Exit just like he did in Season 4. It's up to how Phase 2 plays out and he's going to need a miracle to stay in this.

YOSHI put up a good fight but just fell short in most of his games. Impressively he did manage 2 wins off of Amiibo Wars Vets, Peach and Little Mac. Yoshi has had a history of doing pretty well in Phase 2 so he could definitely bring his score back up into the Top 3 if he does well. Yoshi has recently got some fixes to his AI so hopefully we will see him make some improvements in his gameplay and make a push to the top. Pokemon>Yoshi, its official, we know his true weakness. :P

JIGGLYPUFF shows dominance in Phase 1 of this group, only dropping 1 game to Little Mac. Jigglypuff looks to be pushing for redemption from last season where she was one of the first two amiibos eliminated in the Top 20. Jigglypuff's Top Score leaves her in a great spot going into Phase 2. I definitely think she has a great chance of landing in the Top 3 and advancing to the next Wildcard Event! This is reminiscent of her dominance in Season 5's Challenger Series where she looked very strong going into the Top 20. Can she make it further this season, or will she drop the ball when the competition starts heating up?

PEACH has also dropped the ball a bit considering her experience in Amiibo Wars. Peach typically smokes through the preliminary tournament and easily lands into the Top 20, but this seems like it could be the first time Peach doesn't make it to the big stage. Peach is definitely going to have to step it up if she wants to stay in the tournament. It's pretty shocking to see two top amiibos like Little Mac and Peach doing so poorly, we may be seeing some fresh faces in the Top 20 this season. She does have a history of saving herself when it matters most, so I wouldn't count her out just yet!

CHARIZARD crushes the competition, only dropping 1 game to Jigglypuff. Jigglypuff managed to figure him out quick and read him like a book, but his other matches were blowouts. Charizard made great strides last season, proving he is a serious force in Amiibo Wars. He dominated so many groups and it seems he's keeping up with that trend. Will he continue to dominate in Phase 2? He excels in all match types, so I think it's pretty safe to say Charizard is probably going to be advancing to the next Wildcard Event.

GRENINJA did a little better than I expected he would in this group. He put up a good fight in most matches and even took 2 games. Greninja is typically on the weaker side of things, so his score isn't really a shock. I expected him to be one of the bottom scores. This basically means the group is blown wide open. Charizard and Jigglypuff dominate the first phase, placing the rest of the competitors on equal footing. It will all come down to who performs the best in Phase 2, four of them will be competing for that third slot and it could go to any one of them. Phase 2 is going to see 3 Amiibos advance and 3 Amiibos exit Season 6 for good. Phase 2 is up next, stay tuned!

WILDCARD PHASE 2

PHASE 2 will see the competitors compete in the likes of Team/Smash Ball/Item/Free For All Match Types. This Phase gives 3 points for a win instead of 2, so those who may not be as strong in 1v1's have a chance to save themselves. 4 Amiibos are sitting around the same score and will be fighting to the death for that last spot to advance in the Season 6 Pre Season. The end goal will be a spot in the Top 20. Right now Charizard and Jigglypuff stand tall at the top of the pack, but poor performances in this Phase could even see them drop out of the tournament. This one will be interesting because with 4 Amiibos from Last Season's Top 20 in this group, it is 100% certain that one of them will be not making it to the big stage this Season. It all comes down to this!

THE RESULTS ARE IN!

WILDCARD #1 MVP

CHARIZARD made quick work of this group, obliterating everything in his path. After placing in 8th Last Season it looks like this dragon is on a warpath and is burning down everyone that stands in his way. Charizard manages to finish with a total of 16 points, doubling the 2nd place finisher. Charizard advances to the next stage of preliminaries where I'm sure the competition will be much more challenging. Can he continue to soar through the Pre Season and snatch a spot in the Top 20? Stay Tuned!

2ND & 3RD PLACE

JIGGLYPUFF and LITTLE MAC join Charizard in advancement to the next round of preliminaries! Both of these amiibos were a part of the Top 20 last season, with Little Mac making it all the way to 3rd place. Earlier in Wildcard, he had to face off against Ness who claimed the 3rd and final by to the Top 20, leaving Little Mac fighting for his life here at Wildcard. After a near fatal slip up in Phase 1, it looked as though Little Mac didn't have a chance of making it past this round. But as he always seems to do, he found a way, inching by with only 1 point to spare! Jigglypuff had a commendable performance in this group, excelling in Phase 1 and doing a good job in Phase 2 as well. They both fought well and are still in the game!

THE END OF THE ROAD

GRENINJA, PEACH and YOSHI fail to make an impact. Greninja's elimination wasn't much of surprise, he doesn't seem to have a lot of strengths that most amiibos possess. Sadly for him he got matched against Charizard twice in Phase 2 which basically sealed his fate. Charizard obliterated Greninja in every match they fought in. Peach has always landed in the Top 20, so it's sad to see her bow out so early for the first time. I don't know if it was the matchups or just a bad moment in her Amiibo Wars Career, but it now insures that we will have atleast one new person in the Top 20. Yoshi made some improvements and I could tell he is getting better, but it seems like he needs some more time before he can truly shine. This isn't going to be the Season of the Yoshi. This is the end of the road for these 3 and Wildcard #2 will see the exit of 3 more. Stay Tuned, the next Wildcard is on the way!
