MII GUNNER Amiibo Guide

MII GUNNER
AVERAGE TIER

Mii Gunner is what we all wish Samus Amiibo was. She has a more acceptable speed with delivering moves, has exceptional range and is one of the few amiibos that can "sucessfully" keep her distance and dish out a lot of damage. I think she stands apart from all other amiibos with her AI's original playstyle of fading in and out of close range to keep her opponents guessing, this can definitely work in her favor. She possesses quite a few lingering hit boxes that allow her to catch amiibos out of shields and dodges fairly easily. But does lack on some of her moves, which have wonky hitboxes or lag that make them difficult to land. All of her smash attacks have their uses and her B Moves are "okay". A real downside for this amiibo though, is her aerials having extremely tiny hitboxes, so in a lot of cases it's hard for her to land them. Other than that, I view this amiibo as a a decent addition that is worthy of your attention if you like the character. She retains what you teach better than most and won't take a whole lot of work to train effectively.

PROS:
  • Good Rangey Amiibo.
  • Decent Smash Attacks
  • Kill Throw
  • Great Lingering Hit Boxes
  • Good AI, Retains Information Well
  • Effective in all Match Types
  • True Combos with D Throw
CONS:
  • Recovery is weak
  • Sometimes randomly uses reflector shield for no reason
  • May struggle in some matchups to get in and finish a stock
  • Some lag on moves can have her struggling to land attacks
TRAINING MUSTS:
  • Make sure you always grab and pummel on every amiibo, show her she can kill with Up Throw at about 180%
  • Utilize her great B Moves, especially emphasize fully charging her Neutral B shots as well as showing her she can kill with it. Side B is also a valuable tool for spacing. Use her reflector sparingly, only when you have a projectile coming at you or she may use it randomly for no reason
  • Use all of her aerials and make sure she knows she can kill with Up Air, Back Air and F Air over the ledge
  • Teach her to combo off of her Down Throw at low percents
  • As always, utilize all tilts and jabs
  • She can juggle with her Up Tilt at low percents
