PAST SEASONS

S1: Season 1 was the beginning of a long journey for Mario. When he debuted, amiibos were brand new, some of the bugs and kinks weren't worked out and honestly, Mario was not in a good place. When amiibos first came out, there was an issue with them that made them air dodge at the ledge when being ledge guarded and for amiibos with poor recoveries, this led to them SD'ing A LOT. This issue really held Mario back for a while, and even though he landed himself in 3rd place this season, it was only because the pool of amiibos in Amiibo Wars back then was so small.

S2: Season 2 was probably his lowest point. With a massive group of new amiibos being introduced, this put a huge spotlight on Mario's glitches and weaknesses. He was ultimately overshadowed the entire season by some newcomers who had hit the scene. This was probably Mario's rock bottom, but as they say, it's only up from there.

S3: By the time Season 3 rolled around, changes to amiibos allowed for some of them who were gimped with disadvantages in AI to show what they are really made of. Season 3 was the season of "Gauntlets" where you climbed the ranks by beating one opponent after another. With the amiibo recovery issues being worked out in a patch, this really allowed Mario to shine. He stepped out of the shadows and dominated the competition, running an impressive 10 win streak Gauntlet, placing himself at the top of the pack where he battled Little Mac and Link all season for the throne. It was a power struggle, but ultimately Mario claimed the top spot and won his first Amiibo Wars Championship.

S4: Mario continued his dominance in Season 4, showing how much of a threat he is. He stayed on the heels of his fellow top contenders all season and ultimately finished in 4th place. That buff to recovery really helped him tremendously and he rarely showed any weaknesses after that. Following this Season, Mario's consistent top placing scores put him at the top of the rankings over every other Amiibo in Amiibo Wars. He may not have won Season 4, but he showed he was the most consistent across multiple seasons.

S5: Season 5 wasn't any different from 4 because Mario continued his dominance. He fought his way to the bitter end with little to no push back, only falling to the Bottom 3 once at the end of the season. Little Mac once again proving to be one of Mario's biggest rivals, puts him out in 5th place. This lower placement for him sadly cost him the #1 spot in the rankings. Now at #2, Mario needs to continue to show consistency, and I have no doubt he could take back his #1 spot, no problem.

S6: Mario continues to show his dominance as an Amiibo Wars Legend. Even though he has to fight his way through the masses, he seems unphased. Mario dominates the Wildcard Round and really looks strong going into the Challenger Series. If he somehow gets eliminated there, it will be a massive shock. His Teamfight capabilities have been improving, so hopefully Team Turmoil won't be a huge detriment to his place in the rankings.
