PAST SEASONS

 

S3: Rough start for most of the amiibos that joined in Season 3. They joined late into the season and had to start at the bottom of the ladder. Not the best idea on my part, but it happened. Charizard didn't have a lot of time to climb the ladder, and being so green still, he didn't really stand a chance. I wouldn't say his career in Amiibo Wars started til Season 4.

S4: Ouch, another rough season for Charizard. He didn't even get a chance to show us what he's made of. Just like Robin, he went out in round 1. Personally I wasn't surprised considering the poor track record for heavies in Amiibo Wars. I was hoping to see some improvement but he didn't get a chance to show any. At the end of Season 4, Charizard was sitting at the bottom of the rankings, things weren't looking good for him.

S5: A switch went off in Season 5. A completely different amiibo emerged and it was pleasant to see. In the Challenger Series, Charizard really took off, dominating the 1v1 phase, only dropping 3 games out of 10. This score secured his spot in the Top 20, major improvement from the his debut seasons and he held his own. Battling out of some sticky situations, Charizard makes it all the way to the Top 8 before being eliminated. Much like Robin, we see a complete turnaround from Season 4, and Charizard is looking to finally have a place as a true competitor. This really gave his rankings a much needed boost.

S6: Going into this season, I wasn't sure if his great performance was a fluke or not. But he definitely held his consistency. In the Wildcard Preseason event, Charizard smoked the competition, coming out as the MVP for his group and easily securing a spot in the Challenger Series. I definitely have a feeling he will make it to the Top 20, but we will have to wait and see. The Challenger Series will continue soon!!
