PAST SEASONS
S3: King Dedede was part of the group entering late into Season 3. He didn't have much of a chance at advancing from the bottom of the ladder, so there isn't a whole lot to judge off of. His performance was more miss than hit, he didn't win a lot of matches, and the green of being a new amiibo definitely showed a lot.
S4: I would consider this his actual debut to Amiibo Wars. Even with the short head start he had in Season 3, it didn't save him from the harshness that came with perma-elimination that started in Season 4. One of the first victims of the Perma-Elimination twist, King Dedede was eliminated in wave one, putting his ranking in a very bad spot.
S5: With the Challenger Series giving a better chance at amiibos advancing, Dedede was looking pretty strong with an above average performance in Phase 1. But, much like the other heavies in Amiibo Wars, they just seem to drop the ball when it matters most. Heavies in Amiibo Wars have a horrible reputation for the most part, but their strength comes in FFA/Team Matches where Dedede continued to underperform. You'd think with some decent 1v1 scores, he'd def have Phase 2 in the bag, but he performed poorly and once again saw an early exit from the competition.
S6: The Wildcard Preseason placed Dedede in a fairly easy group, where he continued to struggle. I'm pretty convinced he won't ever make it past the mid tier in Amiibo Wars. He doesn't have any outstanding skills that set him apart from the rest. Though he struggled a bit, this time he did manage to pull things out in Phase 2, ultimately snatching away Zelda's chance at a comeback by 1 point. King Dedede will be advancing to the Challenger Series. But can he make it to the Top 20 this time? Stay tuned for more Season 6!
