PAST SEASONS

S1: In Season 1, Marth made his debut in a serious way. The quick favorite to win, Marth made some early strides to the Top Spot. With only 6 amiibos starting things off, it wasn't as hard to get noticed, and Marth definitely stepped into the spotlight as one of the Top Originals. Marth's true competition was Link, who really gave him a run for his money, and ultimately took the Championship for himself. Marth's debut put him in 2nd Place for the season.

S2: Season 2's influx of new Amiibo Wars Competitors really added a new level of competition that most of the originals struggled to adapt to. Marth definitely took a dip in the rankings and the spotlight was shining elsewhere. Marth's performance was mediocre, with his win/loss being pretty much 50/50. This placed him around the middle of the pack, a big step down from his previous triumph.

S3: The Season of Gauntlets pushed Marth even further down the totem pole. Gradually he just kept slipping. Marth was on tilt, and he didn't seem to have the drive anymore to really make it anywhere in the competition. His place in the rankings was sure to suffer as he finishes Season 3 in 23rd Place out of 32 Contestants.

S4: Season 4 allowed a lot more opportunities for Amiibo's to take advantage of their strengths to make up for their weaknesses. In Marth's case, his slump continued and his effectiveness in the tournament was next to nothing. Marth came out strong, scoring top points in the first round. In round 2 however, he lost to Amiibo War's new golden boy, Shulk, who quickly put him out of his misery. Marth's continuous low tier finishes are making it seem that he doesn't have what it takes anymore.

S5: Overshadowed by Lucina's consistent Top Tier Scores, Marth seemed to have a fire lit underneath him. He smoked through the Challenger Series, receiving top marks for his group, right on the heels of Ness. Marth was starting to look like he was back to his old self again. In the main tournament, he was on a roll until he got a couple of losses, and from then on, he was on a downward spiral. Much like past tournaments, once the ball got rolling negatively, Marth was shown the door. He made some improvements this season, putting himself in 18th place overall.

S6: Continuing to disappoint, there's not a lot of faith left in Marth to perform. Placed in a Wildcard group that wasn't even that difficult, Marth still managed to underperform. I don't know why he's so inconsistent, but personally, with all amiibos being trained the exact same way, he just doesn't seem to have the skills to consistently stay at the top of the pack like others. Marth is no where near as strong as Lucina, who consistenly keeps herself around the Top 10. Hopefully one day it will click, and he will start winning a lot more.
