PAST SEASONS

S2: Lucario came out the gate in a huge way. One of the first amiibos to really come off like an unstoppable force. Lucario's dominance made it seem like he had the season in the bag. However, he wasn't the only one that debuted that was dominating the scene. On the other end Rosalina was also doing a great job of racking up points. As these two great new additions were neck and neck, fighting over the spotlight, underdog Zelda came out from under the radar. Pushing slightly ahead of both of them at the last minute, Zelda steals the championship for herself. After Lucario's amazing performance, I was convinced he was on the road to becoming a Champion soon.

S3: Season 3's new twist made it a little more difficult for Lucario to stay at the top of the pack. With more of the focus on running Gauntlets to climb the ladder, only the strongest 1v1 fighters were able to climb to the top. Lucario didn't have the strongest placement on the ladder and some minor inconsistencies kept him from breaking into the Top 10. Lucario finishes Season 3 in 14th place, quite a big dip in the rankings for him.

S4: Season 4 adds more variety to match types. This was better for Lucario, considering he is a bit more well rounded than others who specialize more in one area. Lucario breezed through the majority of the competition and didn't really come into any danger of elimination til later on. In the Top 8, the competition was a little too fierce for him to make it any further. Overall he had a much better showing and finished the season in 5th Place. He was finally looking like he was back to his former glory.

S5: In Season 5, Lucario did a great job in the Challenger Series, to be expected. As he got to the Top 20 however, he struggled a bit more than he has in the past. He dropped into the Bottom 2 Round pretty early into the season. Being forced to battle it out with Ike to stay in the competition, he really fought for his life. But considering how close the battle was, Ike came out on top at the last minute. It was a shock to see Lucario out at 17th Place because he has consistently scored pretty high. But with the competition so much stronger now, I'm not sure if Lucario will be a top contender anymore.

S6: With the implementation of the Wildcard Series, I expected to see Lucario easily breeze through this preseason round. That wasn't the case. With 6 contenders and only 3 able to move on, Lucario landed in the third place spot due to his scores not being as strong as others. He wasn't the only one to land in the third place spot and was forced into a Tie Breaker with newcomer R.O.B. When put in this elimination situation, Lucario flipped a switch, absolutely dominating his opponent in a blowout. Lucario will be moving on to the Challenger Series, but with this weaker score and the competition being so fierce now, can he make it to the Top 20? The Challenger Series will be continuing soon!
