PAST SEASONS

S3: Meta Knight had a pretty awful start in Amiibo Wars. Sure, most of them start out weak, but he couldn't win a thing. He looked so sloppy and couldn't really even manage a stock kill. I was debating whether or not he would be worthy of a spot, because like many of you know, if an amiibo turns out to be free wins for the others, they get retired. But I was gonna give him more of a chance and see what happened in  future tournaments. Meta Knight finishes Season 3 in Last Place.

S4: In Season 4, he did make some improvements, but not much. He managed to get past the first wave but was out in the second, not winning a single match. Because he did improve upon the last season, I felt it was unfair to retire him. He did win some matches and saved himself, even if only by a little bit. So with his delayed exit, Meta Knight lives to fight another day. Here's to hoping he continues to improve in the coming seasons.

S5: In Season 5 we saw some major improvements in Meta Knight. Though he is considered a Low Tier Amiibo, he took some 1v1 wins off some top tier contenders. It was pretty shocking. He had an average score in Phase 1 of the Challenger Series and managed a 3/3 sweep in Phase 2, securing a spot in the Top 20. This was major for him. Was Meta Knight finally in a position to hold his own? As the tournament raged on and the competition dwindled to the Top 20, Meta Knight saw himself in  over his head, and in the Bottom 2 immediately. I wasn't surprised by this at all, he just didn't have what it takes to down the new and improve rising star, Sheik. I don't see Meta Knight ever being Top Tier, but to see him improve enough to hold his own in the Mid Tier is enough for me.

S6: Sadly for Meta Knight, luck did not smile upon him in the Wildcard Preseason Event. Placed into probably the most difficult group, he honestly didn't stand a chance of making it out. The competition was stacked against him, with the other five amiibos being upcoming top tiers that perform amazingly. Hopefully next season he will have more of a chance to make a dent in the rankings, but with this season, he will definitely be seeing a dip for himself.
