JIGGLYPUFF Amiibo Guide

JIGGLYPUFF
STRONG TIER

Jigglypuff has a lot of positives when it comes to amiibo design. She is a gnat and her ability to stay on someone with her great aerials really shuts down a lot of amiibos that need range to do well.Jigglypuff gives her opponents no room to breathe and can rack up damage very quickly. When you add this to the fact that she is tiny and harder to hit, it makes for a great amiibo. Jigglypuff has one weakness which is being the squishiest character in the game and she tends to struggle more in multi/team matches. But on the positive side, her floatiness and evasiveness make up for that. She's very strong and a good addition to your amiibo collection. One thing I noticed is that Jigglypuff will stray away from her b moves like she should as long as you train her right, you don't want her to use any of them other than Side B, they are very weak and would put her in a punishing position because of the lag. Jigglypuff will not learn to use rest, period, don't even try to teach it to her. There are vids on youtube of people training her to 50 using nothing but rest and she still didn't use it. As long as you focus on her aerials and get her to play aggressively and evasively, she will do really well. She is a terror in 1v1 fights for most characters, especially characters that require spacing/range. She will struggle against heavies however, because of her squishiness.

PROS:
  • Evasive and slippery
  • Strong Aerials
  • Very Hard Hitting Attacks
  • Quick and Floaty
  • Annoying and Hard to Escape
  • Side B can break shields as well as back air
  • Strong vs rangey opponents
CONS:
  • Very Squishy
  • Struggles in Free For All/Team Matches
  • Weak B Attacks
  • No Kill Throws
  • Struggles vs Heavies
TRAINING MUSTS:
  • Focus Aerials, they are her bread and butter
  • She needs to be grabby in case she is against very defensive opponents
  • Don't bother with sleep or rest, she rarely uses sleep and almost never uses rest
  • Teach her how to punish sleeping opponents with smash attacks
  • Dont focus B moves, other than side b since it can break shields
  • You want her to focus aerials over everything else and stay on top of her opponents
  • She can rack up a lot of damage with her neutral air, the hitbox lingers, make sure she uses it a lot.

  1. I hate my Jigglypuff amiibo. It just keep throwing aerial attack and keep getting punished for it, especially against stuff that can perfect shield easily.

    1. I'd suggest balancing her aerials with grabs, because mine typically will go for more grabs if she's getting punished a lot for her aerials, she's good at keeping opponents on the defense because her punishes typically hit harder than everyone elses in trades.

  2. I feel like Rollout is at least worth teaching, since she does use it to some effect and it can kill.

    1. In my experience, my Jiggly knows how to use that but she doesn't because it almost never lands. If she does use it, it's just to get across the stage quicker.
