LITTLE MAC
VERY STRONG TIER
Little Mac is very good but he does have a few minor flaws. His damage output is insane, match that with the ability to counter attack and he makes for a pretty good amiibo. His downside imo is that he is extremely easy to gimp and other amiibos seem to take advantage of this. His recovery is god awful so when you train him make sure you try to keep him center stage. DO NOT train him to jump or aerial AT ALL... I repeat, do not have him leave the stage because if he gets launched while he's mid jump, there is 100% no chance this amiibo will make it back and recover. Little Mac seems like he will get a lot better over time, however he doesn't seem to be as strong vs. amiibo like Link who can run him around and keep him at a distance. Another issue is that sometimes he would land his KO Punch well, other times he would use it immediately regardless of if anyone was around him. He also likes to up b in some pretty bad situations which can lead to punishes. Overall I think he's really good as long as you keep him in the middle of the stage when you are training him, his off stage is so poor he will get obliterated if he even attempts to gimp. He is godly in most 1v1 match ups and can dumpster even overpowered amiibos, like Mario and Shulk for instance. His downside is that he isn't powerful in group matches or team matches and his recovery is a major issue. He can be an absolute terror or he can really fizzle. With my recent experience having him compete in my Amiibo Wars series, he has proven that even in a Team Match he can do well. That was my biggest gripe with him and the reason I teetered on not placing him higher for a while. But after seeing him beat some of the best amiibos in Team Matches, I think it's a testament to his power. His minor inconsistencies do keep him from being a Top Tier amiibo, but his insane power is an undeniable strength that no other amiibo possesses.
PROS:
- Insane Damage Output and very quick
- Super Armor on a lot of moves means he wins most close range trades
- Kill potential is higher than any other amiibo
- Can kill extremely early
- Kill Throw
- Has a One Hit KO Punch that can kill extremely early
- 1v1 Nightmare
CONS:
- Worst recovery in the game
- Struggles in Free For All/Team matches (But with time, can do ok in them)
- Easily Gimped
- Struggles when kept at a distance
- Uses Up B for no reason sometimes
- Training him to do Aerials will ruin this amiibo
- Never learns to capitalize on a broken shield if they land on a platform above him
TRAINING MUSTS:
- Teach him to KO Punch, he will land them sometimes but whiffs them a lot
- Make sure you don't attempt to gimp with him
- Keep him center stage when training
- Don't use aerials too much, his air game is weak and he may get in a habit of using them if you do them too much
- Grabs are very important, always remember to pummel grabs
- His smash attacks have super armor so prioritize these, they will win him a lot of trades
- He has a great jab but don't abuse it too much
- Once again, avoid the ledge when training him
- Utilize his counter attack
- Can kill with back throw at high percents
for somereason, my little mac Amiibo likes to side b off the ledge for fun occasionally. is there something wrong with him
ReplyDeleteI think this happens sometimes when people attempt to gimp or go off stage with him. You also may have trained him too close to the edges. Your goal when training this amiibo is to keep him at the center of the stage and try not to stray to far away from that and I think it will help a lot.
ReplyDeleteit is weird but luigi is still weirder. like is luigi amiibos programmed to try and kill with a taunt.
DeleteYea, the amiibo is coded to ledge guard with taunt. Not all the time but he definitely trys to kill with that. IDK why they coded that in.
DeleteI've had a Little Mac amiibo for a few weeks now and have trained him up to level 50 twice and am now working him up again. I'd say he's pretty decent, being a Mac Main myself, but a strange behavior I noticed is that the amiibo seems to have a fondness for spamming d-smash, regardless of different training methods I use.
