PIT Amiibo Guide

PIT
VERY STRONG TIER

Pit is an amazing amiibo, he has everything you could ask for. He can rack up damage with his close range, mid range and far range options. Pit has great kill moves and his recovery on top of his floatyness is incredible (One of the best in the game). So when he's baiting fights off the stage it's almost impossible to gimp him and a lot of amiibos end up dying just trying it. I can see him not being as good in the hands of someone who doesn't understand him. but other than that I really don't see any weaknesses for this amiibo. He's extremely fast so it's rare to see him get caught in many punishing positions when fighting other strong amiibo. Very good choice if you play Pit and you like him as a character, he makes an amazing amiibo and he's one of my personal favorites. I think his off stage gimping potential with arrows is a very strong point that no other amiibos posses, because of his ability to aim where the arrows are going. I don't think he's quite as strong as Dark Pit but if you prefer Pit, he is an amazing choice.

PROS:
  • Quick and Floaty
  • Great Recovery/Hard to Gimp
  • Long/Mid/Short Range options
  • Great Aerials
  • Great Tilts
  • True Combo
  • Kill Throw
  • Off Stage Arrow Harass is Amazing
CONS:
  • Struggles a bit in Free For All/Team Matches
  • Requires a bit of knowledge of the character to be a good amiibo
  • Will randomly up B over the stage in a punishing position sometimes
  • Will spam smash attacks if you use them too much/or get hit by them a lot in training
  • Can't rack up damage as fast as Dark Pit can
TRAINING MUSTS:

  • I  would suggest training him to use all aerials, his neutral covers a lot of ground
  • Use all tilts, they have very long range and are effective at keeping distance
  • Teach him to back throw into arrow shot, he will learn this combo
  • Teach him to harrass off stage opponents with arrows, can lead to easy gimps
  • Focus Grab Training and teach him to pummel/forward throw at high percents at the ledge, this can lead to a kill
  • Down Throw true combos are teachable at lower percents, Down Throw Up Air and Down Throw Neutral Air
  • Side B is worth teaching, the amiibo lands it sometimes and it does a lot of damage
  • His jab is good at catching air dodges or punishing shields, just use it sparingly because you do not want him spamming this
